Description
Harmonie's Golems
Iron golems have guarded villages for years. Now they can guard YOU.
This mod adds two stronger golems, and lets you tame any golem (vanilla iron golems included) so it follows you around or patrols a zone you choose.
Diamond & Netherite Golems
Build them like an iron golem: a T of four blocks with a carved pumpkin or jack o'lantern on top. Spawn eggs are also available in the creative menu.
| Iron Golem | Diamond Golem | Netherite Golem | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Built from | Iron blocks | Diamond blocks | Netherite blocks |
| Health | 100 | 200 | 300 |
| Attack damage | 15 | 22 | 30 |
| Armor | 0 | 8 | 12 |
| Repaired with | Iron ingot | Diamond | Netherite ingot |
| Drops | Iron ingots | 3–5 diamonds | 2–4 netherite scrap |
Netherite golems are also immune to fire and lava, and walk a little faster.
Taming
Every golem can be tamed. A tamed golem never despawns, never attacks you, and never turns on your other golems.
You can tell tamed golems apart at a glance: red flowers bloom in their ivy.
🌹 Follow mode: right-click with a rose
Give a golem a poppy or a rose bush and it becomes your bodyguard.
- It follows you around, and teleports to you if it falls too far behind.
- It attacks mobs that hurt you, and helps when you attack a monster.
🪵 Patrol mode: right-click with a stick
The golem guards a circular zone around the spot where it is standing.
- It roams inside the zone like a normal golem.
- It leaves the zone to fight a mob, then walks back once the fight is over.
- It gives up on mobs that run too far away, so it never wanders off.
Changing the size of the zone: right-click the golem with a stick again to make the zone bigger, or sneak and right-click to make it smaller. The radius goes from 4 to 64 blocks (16 by default). The border is shown with particles each time you change it.
Moving the zone: give the golem a rose so it follows you, lead it to the new spot, then right-click it with a stick.
Releasing a golem
Sneak and right-click your golem with an empty hand to set it free.
Only the owner can give orders. Other players are told the golem belongs to someone else.
For modpack makers
The items used for taming are item tags, so you can change them with a data pack:
