Monster Slayer (BIG sword!)

This mod adds a Dragon Slayer look-alike to Minecraft. The Monster Slayer, as it is called, is nothing more than two iron blocks attached to a stick — very heavy and very powerful.

The Monster Slayer is crafted with two iron blocks and a stick. It deals 16 points of damage, has an attack speed of 0.6 (very slow), and a sweep attack that deals 9 points of damage. It CAN block damage like a shield, but its block angle is only half that of a shield, meaning that in order to parry effectively, you need to be quite skilled. It cannot be enchanted using an enchantment table.

This mod works fine on its own, but it is even better when combined with Better Combat.
