Description
HitSound Customizer
Give your melee damage feedback a sound that suits you.
Pick from four vanilla sounds, set volume and pitch, and try your choice with Preview. Keep the default players-only filter for PvP, or include other living targets. Press F7 to open the settings screen; the key can be rebound in Minecraft Controls. Save your setup, restore defaults, or switch the mod off anytime.
Everything runs on your client. No extra configuration mod, Fabric API, or server installation is required.
The cue plays when your client receives a server-reported melee damage event attributed to your player. It is not a health-loss indicator, and vanilla or server damage rules can cause some hits to produce no cue. Nearby damage, other players’ attacks, projectiles, and environmental damage do not trigger it.
Installation
Install the file matching your exact Minecraft version and loader: Fabric or NeoForge. Java 21 is required for 1.21.x; Java 25 for 26.x.
Beta
Version 1.0.0 is a beta. Exact-version builds and representative runtime checks passed; full multiplayer gameplay and audible playback have not been verified across every supported version.
MIT licensed. By dreamiiing.
Development disclosure: Created with AI assistance. Original implementation and project artwork; sound choices use Minecraft’s existing sound assets.
