Hot and Cold Curios

Hot and Cold Curios introduces powerful, late-game curios that significantly protect or immunize (configurable) the player against extreme temperatures. It functions as an addon for popular temperature mods including Cold Sweat, Legendary Survival Overhaul, and Tough As Nails, but it can also function on its own to reduce damage taken from vanilla freezing and fire damage (though I highly recommend one of these three mods).

There are three curios included with the mod: the Heat Resistance Medallion, the Cold Resistance Medallion, and the Temperature Resistance Medallion. They are each crafted with a unique recipe depending on which of the supported temperature mods is installed (or a default recipe, if none of them are installed). In every case, each medallion will each require one Nether Star apiece, meaning that these are intended as late-game items and not to be progression-breaking. The Temperature Resistance Medallion, in particular, requires both of the other two medallions and an additional Nether Star in its crafting recipe, meaning it may only be an end-game item for some players.

The mod is massively configurable, intended to allow for as much flexibility and personal preference as possible, depending on the use case or modpack (see config options below).

Here is a list of the configuration options (as of the latest update):

• Whether the Heat Resistance Medallion reduces fire and heat damage. Default is true
• Whether the Heat Resistance Medallion should apply Heat Resistance (or equivalent effect from installed mods). Default is true
• Whether the Heat Resistance Medallion reduces lava damage. Default is false
• Whether  the Heat Resistance Medallion applies Fire Resistance (even if Heat/Fire Resistance is false). Default is false
• Whether the Cold Resistance Medallion reduces freeze damage. Default is true
• Whether the Cold Resistance Medallion should apply Ice Resistance (or equivalent effect from installed mods). Default is true
• Whether the Cold Resistance Medallion should apply Cold Resistance (or equivalent effect from installed mods). Default is true
• Whether the Temperature Resistance Medallion should apply Temperature Resistance (or equivalent effect from installed mods). Default is true
• Whether the Temperature Resistance Medallion applies Fire Resistance (even if the Heat Resistance Medallion does not). Default is false
• Whether the Temperature Resistance Medallion should apply all temperature and environmental immunity effects (including fire and lava immunity). Default is false

There are also some dedicated configuration options for Legendary Survival Overhaul:

• If true, the Heat Resistance and Temperature Resistance Medallions will apply Heat Immunity effect. If false, will apply Heat Resistance (only applies if Heat/Fire Resistance config option is true)
• If true, the Cold Resistance and Temperature Resistance Medallions will apply Cold Immunity effect. If false, will apply Cold Resistance (only applies if Freeze/Cold Resistance config option is true)

Future plans:
Porting to Neoforge 1.21.1+
Possibly adding support for more temperature-related mods
Possibly adding a config to make the medallions provide resistance to extreme temperatures rather than immunity, more like Legendary Survival's rings (as suggested by Mythril42) or alternatively but less likely (as suggested by djcashflow), make multiple tiers of medallions that provide increasing levels of protection until reaching full immunity (or make an addon, which is the more likely approach to that option)

Known issues:
The medallion 3D model on the player can temporarily disappear in the inventory GUI preview while the player is looking down (but not in third person)
In v1.0, the recipe for the Cold Resistance Medallion is broken on some old versions of Cold Sweat (fixed in v1.1+)

Note:
1.20.1 is the current supported version. A NeoForge 1.21.1 port is planned if the current version receives enough support
