About
Description
A niche mod addon for the Hardcore Questing Mod that allows the quests.hqm file to be deserialized into a readable/editable JSON file, then reserialized. Useful for scanning the quests.hqm file for errors and correcting, but not efficient for questline creation. This mod is a tool for mod creators/map creators to debug their quests.hqm file if they encounter bugs with their hqm quests file.
How it works:
This mod only loads if you have have the mod "HQM-The Journey-4.4.4" from creator LordDusk. Project ID is 77027. If it's not loaded, the game will still run just fine, you just won't have any of this mods functionality.
By default whenever you save a quest in game using the hqm book ,you generate a serialized file called "quests.hqm" in your minecraft folder > config > hqm
In-game Chat Commands
/hqmdes deserialize
While in game use the in game chat command to generate a desearlized version of the "quests.hqm". It will be called "quests_deserialized.JSON". Edit this file for bugs. Since there's not a lot of documentation here. Using AI is an effective way to spot bugs. A common usecase is to search for items in a quest that you no longer have the mod installed for.
/hqmdes serialize
Use this command to convert a JSON file named "quests_deserialized.JSON" in your (config > hqm) directory to the needed serialized file to be read by the HQM mod. The file will be named "quests_serialized.hqm".
If you would like to use this file in game you will need to:
1, first exit and close your game
2. delete or backup your old "quests.hqm"
3. rename "quests_serialized.hqm" to "quests.hqm"
4. Upon relaunching the game the new file will be properly read.
/hqmdes status
This command will search for a "quests.hqm" file at the required directory path and let you know if the file is present or not. It will also indicate the size of the file.
Disclaimer: Only use files that you yourself have created. You use other files created or obtained from others at your own risk (even from trusted sources.) Additionally this mod uses public variables/functions from "HQM-The Journey-4.4.4" to serialize/deserialize and does not steal code from HQM-The Journey-4.4.4 which is why the dependency is required.
Do not modify this mod or distribute it without first obtaining my permission.
