Description

Overview:

Have you ever gotten bored butchering the same cows in the forest with your netherite axe? Hunting season is a mod that aims to improve the overall hunting and forestry experience in Minecraft with new mobs to hunt and methods of hunting them!

Currently, the mod only adds one item: the musket, as well as the musket balls needed to fire it. However, I plan on adding to this mod over time, including new mobs that replace the vanilla ones to spawn exclusively in forest biomes, as well as variants of vanilla mobs that will spawn alongside them in field-like biomes.

Musket:

The musket is a new weapon type that serves as an even more powerful ranged weapon compared to the crossbow. They are crafted with planks, iron blocks, and iron ingots and have a base of 10 damage as well as an incredibly high projectile speed, giving them near-pinpoint accuracy and making them a fearsome weapon to deal with. However, muskets are better suited for hunting purposes, as their cooldown after firing makes them cumbersome to use in real combat. Furthermore, they consume gunpowder on use and must be loaded first before each sot. (To load a musket with gunpowder, simply right-click with the shotgun in your main hand and gunpowder anywhere in your inventory.) From there, muskets can be fired with musket balls, crafted from iron nuggets.

Muskets also come with a unique enchantment: buckshot. It works similarly to multishot for crossbows, giving the musket a spray shot. Each level of buckshot on a musket (Max 3) adds an additional 3 bullets to each shot, each with a base damage of 4 and low accuracy.

Finally, muskets also have a cooldown of five seconds after use.
