About

Description

A thrown mace smashes the ground, knocking back a group of enemies.

🛠️ About 🛠️

Hurl is a mod for Fabric 1.21.8+ that makes maces throwable and adds new effects to some vanilla mace and trident enchantments. Requires Fabric API.

🪕 Throwable Maces ( っ'-')╮ =͟͟͞͞🪕

Use Maces to throw them! Thrown maces will do more damage the higher they fall and after 9 blocks they will trigger a mace smash upon hitting the ground. Unlike tridents and arrows maces are blunt so they will bounce off of walls and ceilings instead of sticking to them. Damage from a falling thrown mace can be defended against by wearing a helmet but if that isn't enough to protect you there is a new death message for being "squashed."

📕 Reworked Mace Enchantments 📕

🌫️ Density

Density has the same effect on thrown maces as it does when swung, increased damage based on fall distance. To balance out the high damage potential of thrown Density maces, along with more damage, higher levels of density decrease the speed of the mace. At Density 5 you will struggle to throw your mace more than a few blocks so you will need a height advantage to take advantage of the increased damage.

🗡 Breach

Breach has the same effect on thrown maces as it does when swung, armor piercing. To help tridents stay competitive with the new and similar thrown mace, tridents can now be enchanted with breach, it is exclusive with impaling. Tridents also remain distinct due to their high throw speed, effectiveness in water, and riptide.

↻ Loyalty

Same as tridents.

💨 Wind Burst (Mace Smash Enchant)

Exclusive with the other mace smash enchants. Retains normal swing behavior. On any throw, after hitting an entity or a block the mace will emit a wind burst and bounce off of whatever it hit. Wind burst maces normally do nothing in liquids but if you throw one at the surface of a liquid (water, lava, etc.) at a shallow angle the mace will skip over the liquid until it runs out of wind bursts.

Level 1: No bounce, only triggers wind burst

Level 2: One bounce, triggers stronger wind burst on first bounce

Level 3: Two bounces, triggers even stronger wind burst on first bounce

⚡ Channeling (Mace Smash Enchant)

Exclusive with the other mace smash enchants. On triggering a mace smash during a thunderstorm, lightning will strike the target on a swing and the mace on a throw. If a thrown mace has fallen enough distance to perform a mace smash and hits an entity, it will strike the entity. To make channeling more appealing, it has the additional effect during thunderstorms of greatly increasing the throw speed of the mace. This effect can be used to negate some of the throw speed penalties on density maces.

🔥 Fire Aspect (Mace Smash Enchant)

Exclusive with the other mace smash enchants. Retains normal swing behavior. On triggering a mace smash with either a throw or a swing a low damage but fiery explosion will occur. With thrown maces the explosion's radius will increase with higher fall distance. On a regular mace throw the mace will be ignited allowing it to light tnt and ignite mobs. Higher levels increase the smash explosion radius and the time mobs are ignited when hit by the mace in any way.

🛠️ About

Hurl is a mod for Fabric 1.21.8+ that makes maces throwable and adds new effects to some vanilla mace and trident enchantments. For 1.21.11+ there is an optional resource pack available in the supplementary files section that can be used to disable Hurl's custom 3D mace model, allowing for the use of minecraft's default 2D mace or a texture pack. Requires Fabric API.
