Description

Welcome to Crystalline! This mod is about using various crystals for technology and magic.

A 1.20.1 forge port is in active development, feel free to check it out!

If you find any bugs, or unintended behavior, make sure to submit it to the issue tracker!

Any comments, ideas, or support requests are welcome!

Please note however, that I have a life and might take some time to get back to you.

Extra note:

There are gamerules available to toggle the destructive potential of fire quartz, and limit the range of the teleporters.

Info (0.6.0, 1.21.1):

Shield generators and Redstone Shards:

There are various sizes and shapes of shield generators. They are crafted using Redstone shards. You can use a shield capacitor to strengthen it against attacks, but every hit costs a shard. You can tint shields by putting a block of stained glass on top of it, then turning it on. Not in front, on top. Shields override and restore terrain and other blocks intersecting it when turned on and off, to prevent tunneling under shields. Various blocks, like doors, and trapdoors are not overwritten and can be used to create doorways. More complicated blocks, such as chests, energy storage, and fluid storage may break or drop items if a shield intersects them. If an attack overwhelms a shield, the entire thing will slowly dissolve before the crystal in the generator shatters. This disruption can spread between any touching shields, so be careful how you place them! A broken generator will emit smoke, and can be fixed with a single Redstone shard. Shields can be attacked by loading Redstone shards into a crossbow and firing the resulting laser at the sheild, or by a tool with a Redstone shard substrate applied. The reflect enchantment can be used to make the Redstone laser bounce off of blocks.

Chorus shards:

Made from crystalizing popped chorus fruit in a furnace, these crystals are used for teleportation. You can craft a teleporter that can move you millions* of blocks in an instant. You can link a pair of teleporters together by putting coordinate crystals pointing to the other teleporter in the first slot. If the teleporters don't point to each other, a swap cannot be initiated. The three slots on the right are for the fuel: chorus shards. To initiate a swap, power one of the teleporters with Redstone. Both sides need fuel! When loaded into a crossbow, the fired chorus shard acts like forced chorus fruit to whatever mob it hits.

*Assuming the maximum distance gamerule allows it, and assuming you have correctly fueled and linked both sides.

Fire quartz:

This energetic quartz is found in the depths of the basalt delta. It shatters into burning shrapnel when it is shot. When used as a substrate for tools, it sharpens them at the cost of durability and making them brittle.

Transmutation:

One of the things you can do with the transmutation table is transmutation(no way). Using lapis as a fuel in the top slot, you can traverse a chain of materials. Transmutation is not very extensive yet, and I would recommend using JEI if you want to see all the recipes.

Substrate:

Using the transmutation table, you can apply a substrate to any of the basic vanilla tools(pickaxes, axes, shovels, swords, and hoes). You do this by putting the material in the top slot and tool in the middle. The seven substrates are as follows: Diamond: increases mining level of tool, quartz: increases durability of tool, amethyst: increases enchantability of tool, emerald: currently decorative, Redstone shard: allows attacking shields by hitting them. Costs durability, Chorus shard: teleports whatever you hit with it around, like chorus fruit, Fire quartz: sharpens tool, increasing attack damage and mining speed and decreasing durability and making the tool brittle.

Gravity manipulator:

Changes gravity in a range when powered. Resulting gravity depends on inserted crystal. Chorus shards are the lowest, followed by Redstone shards. Amethyst is only slightly below normal gravity and echo shards are slightly above. Fire quartz gives the highest gravity.

Emerald Lens:

The emerald lens is very simple. It focuses the light of a source such as a torch or lantern, and focuses it forward, growing crops, mushrooms, etc.

Cloaking Device:

Self explanitory. Cloaks a 32 block radius, making it invisible from the outside. It does not have redstone control.

The crystal music disc included in the mod is a song from "Snazzy Spider" on YouTube titled "I made a breakcore(?) song but it has piano and violin so idk if it's really breakcore"
