Description
I Was Here: Lost World - Climate Bridge
A compatibility companion connecting Room Climate and Cold Sweat, developed for I Was Here: Lost World. This is not a standalone temperature engine, a replacement copy of either mod, or a physically exact simulator.
What it does
- Persists room air and wall temperatures in world data.
- Applies bounded thermal catch-up when rooms are revisited, avoiding a simple temperature reset.
- Coordinates room temperature with Cold Sweat and avoids counting the same environmental heat twice.
- Adds pack-oriented heat-source balancing and radiant heat handling, including configured Create heat sources.
- Uses cached results and bounded scan/catch-up work to limit the cost of room simulation.
Room detection is provided by the original Room Climate mod. Results depend on room geometry, configured sources and the matching modpack configuration.
Installation and compatibility
Requires Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47.4.10, Java 17, Room Climate 1.0.0 and Cold Sweat 2.4.3.2. Use the unmodified official Room Climate file. These versions are intentionally constrained because this bridge patches specific implementation details. Install on both client and server with matching configuration. Create heat-source behavior additionally requires Create and the pack's source configuration.
For the intended balance, use the corresponding I Was Here: Lost World modpack configuration. Back up worlds before updating a climate integration. The internal mod ID remains lostworld_climate_bridge; existing lostworld_room_climate_v1 world data is retained. Do not install two versions of the bridge at once.
Credits and license
Original bridge code is distributed under the MIT License. Room Climate and Cold Sweat belong to their respective authors. Their binaries and decompiled sources are not included or relicensed. Room Climate's own license remains unchanged. The project cover is AI-generated illustrative artwork, not an in-game screenshot.
