Iron Age Furniture: Oh The Biomes Add-On

Found the perfect wood for your home in Oh The Biomes You'll Go, only to discover that your Iron Age Furniture doesn’t match it? This add-on brings the two mods together.

It adds new Iron Age Furniture designs made from the woods found in Oh The Biomes You'll Go (BYG) and its successor, Oh The Biomes We've Gone (BWG). The aim is simple: if you build with one of their woods, you should be able to furnish the room with it too.

Two generations, one add-on

This project covers both versions of the biome-mod family:

• Minecraft 1.12.2 with Forge uses Oh The Biomes You'll Go
• Minecraft 26.3 with NeoForge will use Oh The Biomes We've Gone once BWG has a compatible 26.3 release

Each download supports only the biome mod, Minecraft version and loader named on that file. The old BYG and modern BWG editions are not interchangeable.

Why isn’t there a file for my Minecraft version?

You may not need one.

Some later versions of Iron Age Furniture already include their BYG or BWG furniture directly in the main mod. On those versions, installing a separate add-on would only duplicate functionality, so no add-on file is provided.

This project is used where the integration needs to live separately: beginning with BYG support for Minecraft 1.12.2, and later for BWG on Minecraft 26.3.

Check the Iron Age Furniture description and release notes for your Minecraft version. If BYG or BWG support is listed as built in, install the main mod and the biome mod normally this add-on is not required.

What does it add?

Supported BYG and BWG woods receive matching Iron Age Furniture sets, including:

• Chairs and stools
• Benches and back benches
• Padded benches and padded back benches
• All sixteen upholstery colours where supported
• Recipes using the real planks and logs from BYG or BWG
• Furniture in the familiar Iron Age Furniture Creative tab

Connected benches retain the joining behaviour of the main mod, including mixed colour padded arrangements.

The furniture uses the wood textures supplied by BYG or BWG at runtime. This add-on does not copy or redistribute their assets.

What do I need?

For the Minecraft 1.12.2 edition, install:

• Iron Age Furniture for Minecraft 1.12.2
• Oh The Biomes You'll Go for Minecraft 1.12.2
• Minecraft Forge

For a future Minecraft 26.3 edition, install:

• Iron Age Furniture for Minecraft 26.3
• Oh The Biomes We've Gone for Minecraft 26.3
• NeoForge
• Any libraries required by BWG

This is an add-on and cannot be used without Iron Age Furniture and the named biome mod.

Existing worlds

Where an older version of Iron Age Furniture included BYG furniture directly, this add-on will preserve or migrate that furniture wherever the Minecraft upgrade path makes it technically possible. Release notes for each file will explain its supported migration route.

Always back up an important world before moving it between Minecraft versions.

Why is this a separate add-on?

Keeping BYG and BWG support here means the main Iron Age Furniture mod does not need to carry models, recipes and registrations for biome mods that many players do not use. Players who do use them still get a complete, purpose-built furniture collection.

This is an independent Iron Age Furniture compatibility add-on. It is not an official component of Oh The Biomes You'll Go or Oh The Biomes We've Gone.
