Look at the world — and actually understand it. InSight AI adds a smart look-at HUD and a built-in AI assistant to your game.

Point your crosshair at any block or entity and InSight instantly shows you what it is:

• The name of the block or mob
• Which mod it comes from (a life-saver in big modpacks)
• Its registry ID (e.g. minecraft:deepslate_gold_ore)
• The tool needed to harvest it, block details, and mob health

No menus, no lookups — just look, and know.

Built-in AI assistant

Ask an AI anything about Minecraft, right from your chat:

• Type /ask <your question> — e.g. /ask how do I breed axolotls?
• Or look at a block/mob and press N to have the AI explain it (what it's for, how to get it, how to beat it). Looking at nothing gives you situational survival advice.

The answer appears directly in your chat. It's powered by Google Gemini.

How to set up Google Gemini (free)

The AI needs a free Google Gemini API key. It takes about a minute:

1. Go to //aistudio.google.com/apikey" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">https://aistudio.google.com/apikey" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">https://aistudio.google.com/apikey and sign in with your Google account.
2. Click "Create API key" — it's free, no credit card or payment required.
3. On first launch, the mod creates a file at .minecraft/insight/GeminiAPI.txt. Open it and paste your key on the last line (replacing the placeholder).
4. Restart Minecraft. That's it — now /ask and the N key work!

Tip: run /insight key in-game to check whether your key is detected and see the exact file location. Your key is stored locally and is only ever sent to Google's API.
