Description

Intentional Pickup
A simple mod that makes mobs only pickup items that are intentionally dropped by players.
About The Project
Intentional Pickup is a small and lightweight mod for Fabric and NeoForge that changes mobs to only pickup items that are dropped by players and optionally only items included in the whitelist or not included in the blacklist. This change should reduce lag by preventing mass build-up of mobs in caves in long term worlds and servers. If running on a server the mod is only required on the server side and is not required to be on the client.
Configuring The Whitelist/Blacklist
Intentional Pickup uses item tags for its whitelist and blacklist, by default both lists are empty meaning mobs will pickup any item dropped by a player.
To add items to either the whitelist or blacklist you will need to create pickup_whitelist.json and/or pickup_blacklist.json file(s) in a datapack at data/intentional_pickup/tags/item/.
If you are unfamiliar will item tags you can follow this example from the Minecraft wiki. Simply replace the minecraft:X entries with whatever items you want to allow or disallow.
It is also recommended to keep replace set to false or do not include it at all to ensure compatibility with other mods or datapacks that may add to these lists.
