Description

Inventory Pet Belt

Inventory Pet Belt is a standalone addon for Inventory Pets and Curios on Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge. Equip pets without occupying your hotbar.

Features

  • Three Inventory Pet slots and nine pet-food slots.
  • Passive abilities and automatic feeding while equipped in the functional Curios belt slot.
  • Three configurable keys to activate the pets in the belt.
  • A dedicated storage screen, with pet and food slot filters.
  • Stored pets and food remain with the belt when it is removed or saved.

A belt in your inventory, hotbar, a chest or a cosmetic slot provides storage only; its pets do not activate.

Getting started

Craft the belt with six leather, two iron ingots and a chest. Equip it in the Curios belt slot. Press B to open an equipped belt, or right-click it while holding it. If B conflicts with another mod, rebind it in Controls.

Place one pet in each of the three pet slots and put their usual favorite foods in the food slots. Configure Activate belt pet 1, 2 and 3 under Options > Controls > Inventory Pet Belt; these ability keys are initially unbound. Aim at a block for placement abilities. Identical pet types cannot occupy multiple belt slots. Keep belt pets out of the hotbar to avoid duplicate activation. Regular pet ticking pauses while its storage menu is open.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.1 and Java 21
  • NeoForge 21.1.253 or newer compatible 21.1 build
  • Inventory Pets 2.2.9
  • Curios API 9.5.1 or newer compatible 1.21.1 build

Install the addon and both dependencies on the client and server. This addon preserves Inventory Pets hunger, cooldown and disabled-pet settings. It does not include Inventory Pets or Curios themselves.

Development status

Initial beta. Server integration checks cover feeding, passive and active abilities, damage protection, storage persistence and unequipping. A comprehensive test of every pet is still in progress; report any compatibility issues with the pet name and mod versions.

The item ID is inventorypetbelt:inventory_pet_belt. Java source for the addon is included in the jar under sources/. Released under the MIT license.
