About
Description
Inventory Sorter Pro ends the inventory mess that builds up after fishing, farming and mining. Open a chest, click Sort or press R, and everything is merged and put in order. There is nothing to configure first.
What it does
- One click or one key. A small strip on the inventory has Sort, Lock and Settings buttons. The sort key defaults to R and you can change it in Controls.
- Works almost everywhere. Player inventory, chests, double chests, barrels, shulker boxes, ender chests, hoppers and dispensers.
- Merges stacks first. Partial stacks are combined, then everything is ordered by category (tools, combat, building, redstone, farming, food, potions, misc), A to Z, or creative-inventory order.
- Slot locks. Lock any slot with the lock button, or Alt+click it. Sorting skips locked slots, and your locks are saved between sessions.
- Hotbar protection. Optional, so your hotbar stays exactly as you set it.
- Looks like vanilla. A pixel-art strip, a sort animation and soft sounds. Both are optional, and there is a reduce-motion setting.
- Settings screen with a live preview. Pick a preset (Simple, Balanced or Power-user) and watch a mini chest sort with your settings. The whole screen works with the keyboard.
Installation
- Install Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer and Fabric API for Minecraft 26.3.
- Put the jar in your
modsfolder. Minecraft 26.x needs Java 25. - Optional: install Mod Menu to get a settings entry in the mod list. You can also open settings from the gear button in any inventory.
How it works on servers
The mod runs only on your client and needs nothing on the server. Every move it makes is a normal slot click, the same as if you clicked it yourself. If the container closes or its contents change during a sort, the sort stops instead of guessing. Some servers have rules about client mods or fast clicking. If you are unsure, set Click speed to Legit in the settings.
Compatibility
Tested on Minecraft 26.3 with Fabric API. It has not been tested with Mouse Tweaks, REI, EMI or Sodium yet. If something overlaps or breaks with another mod, please report it in the comments or issues and it will be fixed quickly.
FAQ
Does it work in singleplayer and on servers? Yes, both, with no server install.
Will it lose my items? It was tested against 30,000 random inventories for lost or duplicated items, and it stops safely if anything changes mid-sort. If you ever see an item go missing, please report it with what you did.
Can I change the sort key? Yes, in Controls.
Is there a Forge, NeoForge or older-version build? Not for now. Requests are welcome.
