Item Tracer

Item Tracer is a server-side NeoForge 1.21.1 mod that tracks non-stackable items such as elytra, tools, armor and shulker boxes. Each one gets a unique ID built from the first letter of each word in its name plus an ascending number, so the first Elytra is E1, the second is E2, and a Diamond Sword is DS1. The mod records where each item was first crafted or found, keeps track of where it is now, and alerts admins in chat if two items ever share the same ID. Everything is logged to the world folder, and the IDs don’t interfere with crafting. Vanilla clients can join.

Commands

All commands need op level 2 or the server console.

  • /itemtrace held: shows the ID, first-seen record and current location of the item in your main hand. Players only.
  • /itemtrace lookup <id>: shows the same details for any ID, for example /itemtrace lookup E1. IDs are not case-sensitive.
  • /itemtrace scan start: resumes the periodic scan.
  • /itemtrace scan stop: pauses the periodic scan, which also pauses location updates and duplicate alerts.
  • /itemtrace scan status: says whether scanning is running or stopped.
  • /itemtrace scan now: runs one scan immediately, even while scanning is stopped.
