About
Description
ItemSaver watches your gear and steps in before you lose it.
Armor Guard — when a helmet, chestplate, leggings or boots drop to their last 10 durability points, the piece moves itself into your inventory instead of breaking. A full inventory is reported on the action bar rather than failing quietly, so you are never left thinking you were covered when you weren't.
Tool Warnings — any item in your hotbar or offhand that falls under 5% durability gets a pulsing red slot with the exact percentage above it, plus a chime and an action-bar line the moment it crosses.
Both cover anything with a durability bar, modded gear included — there is no hardcoded item list.
Client-side only. Works in singleplayer and on any server, vanilla included, with nothing installed server-side: armor is moved with the same inventory action a shift-click sends, so the server just sees a player tidying their own gear.
It also tells you when it can't help. An elytra is warned about rather than taken off — Minecraft stops an elytra gliding at one durability point instead of destroying it, so there is nothing to rescue — and nothing is ever unequipped mid-flight. Armor under Curse of Binding is reported once instead of being promised a rescue that cannot happen.
Keys, rebindable under Options → Controls → ItemSaver: ; toggles Armor Guard, ' toggles Tool Warnings.
Settings live in config/itemsaver.json: the trigger point (default 10 durability), the warning percentage (default 5%), and switches for the slot highlight, the percentage label and each sound.
Install: Fabric Loader with Fabric API, or NeoForge, for Minecraft 26.2. Drop the jar into your mods folder. Client only — servers need nothing.
