About

Description

ItemWeaver

ItemWeaver lets server owners create custom items, weapons, tools, armor, blocks, crafting recipes, block drops and animated hostile mobs using JSON and asset files—without rebuilding the mod for every content change.

Features

  • Custom items, tools, weapons, armor and placeable blocks
  • Shaped and shapeless crafting recipes
  • Configurable block and mob drops
  • Animated custom mobs with stats, drops and natural spawning
  • Optional GeckoLib models and animations
  • Automatic server-to-client asset synchronization
  • SHA-256 verified downloads and reusable local caches
  • Stable content IDs that remain assigned across reloads
  • Safe maintenance reload with automatic rollback on critical failure
  • English and Czech documentation

The server owns the active content. Every player installs the matching ItemWeaver release; referenced assets are then downloaded automatically when joining. Server-only files and unused assets are not transferred.

Content changes are applied from the dedicated-server console or RCON with:

/itemweaver reload

Reloading is a maintenance operation and requires all players to disconnect first. In single-player, save and reopen the world to apply changes.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.8
  • Fabric Loader 0.16.13 or newer
  • Fabric API 0.136.1+1.21.8 or newer compatible build
  • Java 21
  • ItemWeaver on the server and every client
  • GeckoLib 5.2.2 or newer on clients only when the server uses 3D content or custom mobs

Full schemas, examples, commands, model paths, synchronization details and troubleshooting are available in the official ItemWeaver wiki.
