About

Description

Josh's Tool and Weapon Modifier

Scale item durability, tool mining speed, and weapon damage for every item in the game, vanilla or modded, with three simple sliders. No item lists to maintain, no per-item config. It works automatically on anything with durability, a mining speed, or an attack damage bonus.

Features

  • Durability Multiplier: scales the max durability of every item (default 2.0, i.e. double durability)
  • Tool Speed Multiplier: scales the mining speed of every tool (default 1.0, vanilla speed)
  • Damage Multiplier: scales the attack damage bonus of every weapon/tool (default 1.0, vanilla damage)

Each setting accepts any value from 0.01 to 1000.0, so you can go anywhere from "nearly unbreakable, one-shot everything" to "everything is made of wet cardboard."

Configuration

Open Mods → Josh's Tool and Weapon Modifier → Config in-game (powered by Cloth Config) to adjust all three sliders, with tooltips explaining each one. You can also edit config/toolweaponmodifier-common.toml directly if you prefer.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 26.2
  • NeoForge 26.2.0.88 or newer
  • Cloth Config API (NeoForge build for 26.2), required for the in-game config screen

Multiplayer

This mod adjusts item defaults at the registry level, which both sides of a connection need to agree on to stay in sync. That means:

  • It must be installed on both the server and every connecting client.
  • Every client should use the same config values as the server.

This is normal for mods that change core item stats.

Development

This mod was built with the help of AI-assisted coding tools and tested against Minecraft 26.2 and NeoForge 26.2.0.88. Both dedicated-server and client environments were tested before release.
