Just Enough Search

Just Enough Search is an addon for Just Enough Items (JEI) that improves the search experience with better  clearing, autocomplete suggestions, search history, and favorites.

It is designed to make searching through large modpacks faster and more convenient without changing the way JEI itself works.

Better Clear

Better Clear changes the behavior of right-clicking the JEI search bar.

Instead of always clearing the entire search immediately, Just Enough Search can use @ and # filters as a point to return to.

For example:

@minecraft stone diamond

Right-click once:

@minecraft

Right-click again:

Empty search

If there is no @ or # filter in the search, a single right-click clears the entire search.

This makes it easier to quickly remove the extra parts of a search without having to manually edit the search bar.

Autocomplete

Just Enough Search adds an autocomplete system directly to the JEI search bar.

As you type, a suggestion box appears below the search bar with matching results.

Mod suggestions

Typing:

@meka

will show matching installed mods, such as:

Mekanism
Mekanism Additions
Mekanism Generators
Mekanism Tools

The suggestions are generated from the mods actually loaded in the current instance.

Search suggestions

The suggestion box is designed to make it easier to discover what you can search for without having to remember exact names.

Suggestions can be navigated using the keyboard or selected with the mouse.

Search History

Just Enough Search keeps a history of previous searches so they can be quickly reused.

The history:

• avoids duplicate entries
• moves reused searches back to the top

Performance

Just Enough Search is designed with large modpacks in mind.

Search data can be indexed and cached to avoid unnecessarily scanning every installed item, block, mod, or tag whenever the search changes.

Requirements

Just Enough Items (JEI) is required.

Please install a version of JEI compatible with your Minecraft version.
