KarmaCore

Win the fight. Change your fate.

PvP victories increase your Karma; defeats lower it. Five configurable default levels turn that score into effects and rewards. Revenge gives defeated players a reason to return.

Spigot / Paper — bug-fix edition 1.0.1

The repaired Bukkit plugin retains its player inventory GUI, configurable levels, positive/negative effects, revenge, Karma items and reward system. /karma opens your score, level, progress, effects, recent changes and revenge targets.

Corrections: replaced Paper-only calls that prevented Spigot compatibility; repaired right-click consumables in the air; prevented integer overflow; corrected permission-aware completion and item/player suggestions; preserved given items when inventories are full; persisted global anti-farm and item cooldowns; prevented profile-load failures from overwriting existing scores. Level rewards are granted once per level by default, preventing repeated reward farming. Administrators can opt into repeated rewards in configuration.

Install one exact-version Bukkit JAR in plugins/, then restart. Commented plugins/Karma/config.yml, messages.yml and the SQLite database are generated automatically. Existing Bukkit karma.db data remains in its original schema. No client installation is required.

Default balance: −100 to +100, starting at 0, victory +10, defeat −10, repeated-victim cooldown 300 seconds, revenge bonus +5. Speed starts at +50; Slowness at −50. All thresholds and levels are configurable.

Players: /karma, /karma <online-player>, /karma top (alias /k).

Administration: /karma set|add|remove <player> <amount>, /karma reset <player>, /karma reload, /karma giveitem <item-id> [online-player]. Permissions are the individual karma.* nodes declared in the bundled plugin.yml; admin permissions default to operators. Completion respects permissions. Four default items: karma-crystal, blessed-heart, cursed-shard, revenge-token.

Vault MONEY integration is optional and its code is retained, but no economy-provider runtime validation is claimed. A compatible Vault economy is required for money rewards. YAML supports item, effect, console/player command, money, sound and particle rewards.

Verification: 29 exact-version Bukkit JARs compiled against official Spigot APIs, covering Minecraft 1.19 through 26.3. Full two-client gameplay and same-world restart tests passed on Spigot 1.19, Paper 1.20.1, Paper 1.21.11. Only these tested files are marked release; the remaining compiled files are beta. A test on Paper is not a test on Spigot for that same version.

Native mod ALPHAS — Fabric, Forge and NeoForge

These are separate mods, with a smaller feature set. Every native download is alpha. Published builds: Fabric 29, Forge 27, NeoForge 23. Missing official loader/version combinations are not tagged.

Implemented: persistent PvP scores and counters, configurable level ranges and vanilla effects, anti-farm, revenge bonus/rewards, leaderboard, four tagged vanilla consumables, unique level rewards, operator commands and completion. Use right-click or /karma use while holding a Karma item. /karma shows a text summary. Operators remain subject to native anti-farm/item cooldowns.

Not available in these alphas: Bukkit inventory GUI, detailed history/revenge menu, full custom item material/name/lore/enchantment/particle/sound parity, Vault integration, or automatic migration of the Bukkit SQLite database. Native data is separate. Do not replace an established Bukkit installation expecting its scores to migrate automatically.

Put one matching JAR in mods/. Fabric also requires Fabric API. No custom client packets/items are registered; vanilla clients were used in the tested combinations. Configuration: config/karmacore.properties. Per-world state: <world>/karmacore/native-state.properties. Set world exclusions using dimension identifiers. Command rewards use semicolon-separated commands and %player% / %uuid% placeholders.

Native commands: /karma, /karma <player>, /karma top, /karma use; admin /karma set|add|remove <player> <amount>, /karma reset <player>, /karma reload, /karma giveitem <item-id> [player]. Aliases /karmacore and /k. Administration requires operator level 2; other commands are public. Java 17 through 1.20.4, Java 21 for 1.20.5–1.21.11, Java 25 for 26.x.

Native gameplay validation: forge 1.19, fabric 1.21.1, neoforge 1.21.1. Other artifacts are API-compiled and remain unverified in game. Per-file changelogs state the test scope and client protocol warnings. Integrated single-player and third-party modpacks have not been validated.

Performance and evidence

The Bukkit backend uses cached profiles and asynchronous SQLite WAL writes. Native state writes are atomic and coalesced through one IO worker. Effects refresh periodically for affected players; there are no world scans on every tick.

Tests cover 32 interleaved players / 1,600 native engine combats and 32 SQLite profiles / 640 saves from 8 concurrent callers, including reopening data. These are synthetic engine/storage tests, not live-server TPS measurements. Full third-party plugin/modpack compatibility is not claimed. Every release changelog identifies its artifact hash and actual validation.
