Description
Story
Keep Inventory is a highly controversial topic in the community. This mod aims to add balance to the gamerule, allowing players to still face consequences for dying while keeping most of their inventory and levels. This creates a less devastating and more fun gameplay loop. Keep Inventory Nerf draws inspiration from other games like Stardew Valley and Hytale, where dying only results in losing a few random items.
Changes
- Players will only drop between 1 and 3 random items on death. This can be configured with the
keepInventoryMinItemsToDropandkeepInventoryMaxItemsToDropgamerules. - Players will only lose a small percentage of their experience on death. This can be configured with the
experienceLossPercentagegamerule. - On death, you will be informed of which items were dropped and the number of experience levels that were lost.
- The Recovery Compass will no longer drop from the player's inventory on death.
NOTICE: New worlds will have keep inventory enabled by default. Existing worlds will need to manually enable it.
