Overview
Tired of losing all your hard-earned enchanted equipment when you die, but don't want to turn on keepInventory and not get punished at all for death? Well this is the mod for you!
By default, this mod changes two things about dying:
- Any of your weapons, tools, and armor will be kept in your inventory on death.
- The durability of all your equipment will degrade by 15% upon death.
- 50% of your experience will be kept on death.
Customization
This mod has been built with customization in mind. All of the mod's behavior is controlled with just gamerules and item tags, so just about everything can be changed.
Current Gamerules:
- keepEquipment: When enabled, this gamerule will make any item in the
keepequipment:kept_with_keepequipmenttag remain in your inventory after death. Defaults to true. - equipmentDegradationPercentage: Controls the percentage of durability the items you have will lose when you die. Defaults to 15%.
- maxItemsKept: Determines the maximum amount of items kept by the keepEquipment gamerule. Defaults to 999, so you will keep everything by default.
- keptExperiencePercentage: Determines the percentage of experience you keep on death, measured by the player's total experience instead of their level. Defaults to 50%.
FAQ
Q: How does this mod interact with gravestone mods?
A: Works exactly like you'd expect it to. Items kept on death will remain in your inventory, while everything else goes to your gravestone. The durability of your items will still degrade as normal.
Q: Can you customize which items you keep on death?
A: Yes, by making a datapack that modifies the keepequipment:kept_with_keepequipment tag, then you can add or remove items that the player will keep when they die.
Q: Are there any more features planned for the mod?
A: Yeah, I've still got some additional gamerules I'd like to add. Don't expect anything soon though, I'm a bit busy with college.
Q: Do you plan on making a Fabric port of this mod?
A: Currently, no.
