About
This is a server-side Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.11 that adds functional muskets and pistols. It uses the Polymer framework, which means it works entirely on the server and players don't need to install any client-side mods to see the custom models or animations.
I built this to feel authentic and immersive without being overly complicated. It handles things like custom poses, particle effects for muzzle flashes, and specific enchantment behaviors entirely through server-side logic.
Key Features
- No Client Mods Needed: Everything is handled server-side.
- Pistol Dual-Wielding: You can carry and fire a pistol in each hand.
- Custom Animations: Players will actually raise their weapon to aim when it's ready to fire.
- Visuals: Includes muzzle flashes, smoke trails, and impact effects.
- Crafting System: Build weapons from specific parts like barrels, stocks, and lock plates.
- Enchantments: Support for Power, Piercing, and Flame with custom visuals.
Weapon Statistics
The Musket
Heavy hitting and long range, but the reload is slow. Best used for picking off targets from a distance.
- Damage: 20.25 (roughly 10 hearts)
- Range: 150 blocks
- Reload: 5.5 seconds
- Notes: High accuracy, long cooldown.
The Pistol
Faster and lighter but less powerful than the musket. Good for close-quarters or dual-wielding.
- Damage: 15.75 (roughly 8 hearts)
- Range: 50 blocks
- Reload: 3.5 seconds
- Notes: Projectiles have gravity, so you'll need to account for drop. Supports dual-wielding.
Enchantments
I've integrated a few vanilla enchantments to work specifically with these weapons:
- Piercing (I-IV): Bullets will go through enemies.
- Power (I-V): Increases damage. At level 5, weapons get a unique magenta trail.
- Flame: Adds fire particles to the shot and ignites whatever you hit.
Crafting
You first craft the components and then combine them into the final weapon.
Components
- Barrel / Short Barrel: Made from Netherite Scrap.
- Lock Plate: Made from Iron Ingots and Iron Nuggets.
- Stock: Made from Oak Planks.
- Handle: Made from Oak Planks. See full crafting in video.
Final Weapons
- Musket: Combine a Musket Barrel, Lock Plate, and Stock.
- Pistol: Combine a Short Barrel, Lock Plate, and Handle.
Installation
This mod is for Fabric servers or clients running 1.21.11. It requires:
- Fabric API
- Polymer Core
- The Resourcepack
This mod might also run on versions 26.1.x but it has not been tested on them, use at your own risk.
