Labeling Tool

The Labeling Mod is a lightweight Fabric mod designed to make item customization feel more immersive and natural in Roleplay environments.

Instead of relying on the traditional anvil system, the mod introduces two dedicated tools: the Archivist's Wand and the Archivist's Table.

The Archivist's Wand is a portable tool that allows players to rename compatible items directly through its own custom interface. It can also be used to add a custom description to an item, making it perfect for labels, notes, ownership details, artifacts, decorations, Roleplay props, and other personalized objects.

The wand is intentionally limited to suitable items and cannot be used to rename weapons, armor, or tools. It also has limited durability, giving each use a little more weight and making it feel like an actual Roleplay tool rather than a replacement for every vanilla naming mechanic.

The Archivist's Table offers the same idea in the form of a dedicated workstation. Items can be renamed and given custom descriptions by using paper and ink, giving the process a more physical and thematic feeling.

Both systems support custom item descriptions with controlled formatting, colors, and character limits, allowing players to add personality and context to their items without filling tooltips with excessive text.
