The official mod for the Mind Games. Lectern lifts the limits vanilla Minecraft puts on us, so our server can do things a plugin never could.

About
Description
Lectern is a lightweight client-side Minecraft mod that bridges Paper servers and vanilla clients, enabling real-time UI, interactions, and player controls for live events and community servers — without requiring any server-side mod installation.
Supports ONLY 1.21.11
Lectern (the Mod) listens for custom data packets sent from Lectern (our Paper Plugin) and responds client-side. Allowing you to execute actions such as rendering UI, handling interactions, and managing player controls in real time.
All logic and visuals remain client-sided, keeping the server fully vanilla-compatible.
Use cases include:
• Heavy moderation on what mods or packs a player uses
• Hosting large-scale community events
• Game shows and roleplay scenarios
• Real-time player moderation tools
• Interactive storytelling experiences
Answers
Do I need this to play? Only on servers that use it. Lectern is client-side and does nothing on its own.
Does it work with other mods? Yes. It needs Fabric and runs alongside Sodium, Iris and the usual performance mods. Install Iris yourself if you want shaders.
Does it keep itself updated? Yes. The file you download is a small loader that fetches Lectern and keeps it current, so you install once.
What does it do outside the game? It downloads its own files from lode.gg and replaces its jar in your mods folder when the game closes. On Windows that last step runs a short command after Minecraft exits, because a running game cannot replace a file it is using. It can also ask your operating system to keep the Minecraft window out of screen recordings, so the window stays visible to you while OBS and screenshots see black.
Is it open source? The loader is, under GPL-3.0. Lectern itself is not.
