Project description
Living Dex and Karps Organizer for Cobblemon is a Fabric addon for collectors who want a dedicated place for each Pokémon in their PC, with matching Living Dex and Magikarp/Gyarados checklists in their browser.
Use the buttons in your Cobblemon PC to organize your Living Dex, arrange your Magikarp and Gyarados collection, and update your checklist.
Features
- National Dex organization: place Pokémon into fixed collection slots, including the regional forms supported by the current catalogue. Missing entries keep their reserved slots.
- Duplicate handling: send extra eligible Pokémon to the designated duplicates box while preserving its already occupied slots.
- Magikarp and Gyarados collection: organize 31 special patterns across 124 entries. Each pattern is grouped as Magikarp, shiny Magikarp, Gyarados and shiny Gyarados. The standard Living Dex keeps its own Magikarp and Gyarados representatives.
- Optional shiny sorting: move eligible shinies into two dedicated boxes. Your main team storage box and Karp collection remain protected from this action.
- Protected storage: keep designated boxes for Pokémon you want to manage yourself.
- PC capacity: expand PCs with fewer than 45 boxes to fit the layout. Larger PCs retain their existing capacity.
- Box names: apply collection names once during initial setup, then rename boxes normally. Options let you restore all native game names or all organizer names, with a shared 10-second cooldown.
- Backups and Undo: create PC backups before organization changes and provide an Undo action. Sorting plans check available space and Pokémon identities before applying changes.
- Browser checklist: view collection progress, Pokémon images, search and filters, concise evolution requirements with expandable details, and checklist export.
- Optional multiplayer sharing: choose whether other users of the mod on your server can view your collection. Sharing is disabled by default and applies to both collections.
- Five interface languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish, French and Italian. The interface follows your Minecraft language and falls back to English for unsupported languages.
PC layout
The current version uses a fixed layout:
| Boxes | Purpose |
|---|---|
| 1–35 | Living Dex |
| 36 | Protected storage for your main Pokémon |
| 37 | Duplicates |
| 38–39 | Shinies |
| 40 | Manually managed protected storage |
| 41–45 | Magikarp and Gyarados collection |
| 46+ when present | Additional protected storage |
With shiny sorting enabled, shinies in box 37, box 40 and additional protected boxes can also move to boxes 38–39. Box 36 and boxes 41–45 remain protected. With shiny sorting disabled, shinies remain in place; the organizer may ask you to clear a shiny from a reserved Dex slot before sorting.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- Fabric Loader 0.17.2 or newer
- Fabric API
- Cobblemon 1.8.2
- Java 21 or newer
Install the same organizer version on the server or world host and every participating client, together with Fabric API. For worlds shared through Essential, the hosting player's game acts as the server. Essential is optional.
Catalogue compatibility
The current catalogue contains 1,029 Living Dex entries, including regional forms, plus 124 Karp collection entries. Its layout is predefined.
The catalogue was assembled from Cobblemon 1.8.2 and the species supplied by these addons in the original pack configuration:
| Content source | Role in this catalogue |
|---|---|
| Cobblemon | Base species, supported regional forms and native Magikarp Jump variant identifiers. Required. |
| Cobblemon: Mega Showdown, by yajatkaul | Source of 61 additional base-species entries beyond base Cobblemon 1.8.2. Optional content addon. |
| Cobblemon Ultra-Beasts, by Darcosse | Source of 8 additional Ultra Beast species entries. Optional content addon. |
These counts describe the extra entries in this organizer's catalogue, not the full contents of those addons. The catalogue was assembled using Mega Showdown 1.2.0+1.8.1+1.21.1-release and Ultra-Beasts 4.0+Cobblemon-1.8.0. This identifies the original data sources; it is not a claim that every version of those addons has been tested with the organizer or with Cobblemon 1.8.2. Choose addon builds appropriate for your installation and follow their own dependency requirements.
The organizer's required dependencies are Cobblemon and Fabric API. The optional content addons provide species for the corresponding collection entries; availability and obtainment follow your world, addon and server configuration. Entries for unavailable species remain empty. Addon files and their models are distributed separately by their own authors.
The checklist reflects Pokémon stored in your PC. Party Pokémon are not included in the current version.
Getting started
- Back up your world, install the required mods and launch the game.
- Open your Cobblemon PC. Initial setup expands capacity when needed and applies the organizer's box names once.
- Place Pokémon you want to keep separate into the designated protected boxes.
- Use Organize Karps for the variant collection, then Organize Dex for the main collection.
- Select Update site and open the clickable chat link to view your checklist.
- Open Options to change shiny sorting and collection sharing, or restore box names.
Local website and privacy
The checklist runs locally on your computer. Your own latest checklist can remain available for offline viewing. General Dex sprites load from Pokémon Showdown, with PokéAPI/GitHub as a fallback, and require internet access; these services receive ordinary browser image requests, including your IP address. Karp images are included locally.
Collection sharing is an individual choice for each world/server. Players who enable it share their Minecraft identity and collection progress with other users of the mod on that server. Their last shared summary can remain viewable while they are offline and the viewer is connected to that server. Server administrators retain access to world files. Full PC backups, IVs, held items and settings are not included in shared collection summaries.

Back up your world before first use and before major updates. The organizer moves existing Pokémon, may expand PC capacity, and applies its default box names once during initial setup. Built-in backups and Undo are recovery aids; retain your own world backups as well. Sorting requires enough space in the designated destination boxes.
This is an unofficial community addon, independently developed and not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by the Cobblemon Team, the authors of the listed addons, Mojang Studios, Microsoft, Nintendo, Game Freak or The Pokémon Company. Minecraft and Pokémon names, artwork and trademarks belong to their respective rights holders.
Development included AI-assisted coding.
