Lymonite Horse Armor – Mountain Riding
Travel through snowy mountains with your horse!
Ride Your Horse Through the Mountains
Horses are one of the fastest ways to travel in Minecraft.
With good breeding or a bit of exploration, players can obtain incredibly fast horses.
However, rough terrain and Powder Snow often make long journeys frustrating.
Lymonite Horse Armor allows horses to travel safely through snowy mountains and harsh natural terrain, preventing them from sinking into Powder Snow and protecting them from environmental hazards.
Features
- ❄ Prevents horses from sinking into Powder Snow
- 🧊 Grants complete freezing immunity
- ❤️ +4 extra hearts to horse health
- 🌵 Immunity to damage from Sweet Berry Bushes and Cacti
- 🛡 Armor strength between Gold and Diamond horse armor
- 🪂 Horses take 50% less fall damage in addition to vanilla reduction
- 🏔 Makes mountain travel much more comfortable

Obtaining
The armor can be discovered during exploration, or crafted if you uncover the forgotten knowledge behind it.
Possible loot:
- Lymonite Horse Armor – 17% chance
- Lymonite Ingot – 17% chance
- Lymonite Mixture – 17% chance
- Nothing – 50% chance
The armor, ingot, and mixture can all appear in Jungle Temple and Woodland Mansion chests.
Crafting Lymonite Horse Armor
Players who explore deeper into the world may rediscover the lost crafting method.
A special item called the Horse Armor Handbook can be found in Stronghold Libraries (33% chance per chest).
Using a Smithing Table, the armor can be crafted with:
- Horse Armor Handbook
- Golden Horse Armor
- Lymonite Ingot
→ Lymonite Horse Armor

The Handbook is not consumed during crafting.
Lymonite Ingots and Mixture
To craft Lymonite Horse Armor, players need Lymonite Ingots, which are made from Lymonite Mixture.
Lymonite Mixture can be crafted using:
- Raw Gold
- Resin Clump (or Slime Ball in 1.21.1)
- Vine
- Torchflower Seeds
→ Lymonite Mixture (unshaped recipe)

The mixture can then be refined in any furnace:
- Smelting or Blasting Lymonite Mixture
→ Lymonite Ingot

This allows players to craft Lymonite Horse Armor even without finding loot, once they have discovered the ancient formula.
Lore
Lymonite is a rare green-gold material created long ago by ancient jungle tribes.
It is lightweight, moderately durable, and known for its warm golden shimmer and vibrant green color. Unlike traditional metals, Lymonite is believed to contain organic components derived from jungle plants.
The material is deeply connected to the power of nature. Armor forged from Lymonite is said to strengthen the vitality of animals and protect them from the harsh cold of high mountains. Its unique properties also reduce the impact of falls, making mountain riding safer than ever.
However, the original crafting process has been lost to time. No one knows exactly which plants were used in its creation. Some rumors claim that woodland raiders have partially rediscovered the ancient formula…
Today, the only known pieces of Lymonite Horse Armor are those hidden away in forgotten structures across the world.
