Description
This very lightweight datapack adds 5 new river biomes into the game alongside the two vanilla river biomes.
- Cold River: An almost untouched vanilla river clone with different colored water. Generates in taiga-adjacent regions.
- Tropical River: A vanilla river clone with differently colored water and tropical fish instead of salmon. Generates in jungle-adjacent spaces.
- Lilypad River: Green-tinted river that has lilypads on its surface. Spawns tropical fish in large amounts. Generates in high humidity levels, usually nested within jungles.
- Dryland River: Generates alongside savannas. Instead of salmon, spawns tropical fish. Does not have precipitation.
- Desert River: Generates in deserts/badlands. Has small amounts of tropical fish instead of salmon. Rarely generates acacia trees on its banks. Does not have precipitation.
I initially just wanted to make a warm river that does not have any rain, and kinda got carried away. I always found it ugly and immersion breaking to see deserts and savannas have these weird and ugly strips of rainfall going through them. So I simply fixed it. It's not much to look at, and isn't meant to be that either.
Frozen river is untouched, while vanilla rivers now only generate along the middle of the temperature range. The exact distributions are in the gallery.
