Description

MCA Wandering Trader Compat

Replaces the vanilla Wandering Trader with a proper MCA Reborn adventurer villager instead of patching the vanilla entity in place. When a Wandering Trader would spawn, this mod cancels it and spawns an MCA adventurer with a real name, the custom MCA "Adventurer" profession, and a stocked trade list. It does all of this through standard Forge/NeoForge events, with no Mixin hooks into vanilla's trading code.

Features:

  • Adventurer villagers get a live sample of the real Wandering Trader trade pool (5 common + 1 rare), so other mods' trade injections are picked up automatically

  • Extra configurable trades via an editable mcawtcompat-trades.json

  • Adventurers can arrive with a leashed companion, cleaned up safely when they leave

  • You choose the companions: llama, horse, donkey, cat and wolf by default, and any mob works, including modded ones (yes, even dragons). Leave the list empty for no companions

  • In-game /wtconf command (ops only) for those who'd rather not edit config files:

    • /wtconf companions add <entity>: autocompletes like /summon, so you can't add an ID that doesn't exist
    • /wtconf companions remove <entity>
    • /wtconf companions list
    • /wtconf companions reset
    • /wtconf companions test: spawns an adventurer right next to you so you can see the result

Changes apply instantly and are saved to the config, so no restart is needed.

  • Fully config-driven: every feature above can be toggled independently

Versions:

  • Forge 1.20.1: requires MCA Reborn (Forge)
  • NeoForge 1.21.1: requires MCA Reborn (NeoForge)
