# MCP Bridge
**Let an AI see and control your Minecraft world.**
MCP Bridge starts a small local [Model Context Protocol](https://modelcontextprotocol.io) server inside Minecraft, so AI assistants such as **Claude, Cursor, VS Code (Copilot), Gemini CLI, Codex and Windsurf** can inspect your world and act on it: build structures, move players, read chat, run commands.
## Features
- 🧱 **Build**: place blocks, fill areas, scan regions
- 👀 **Observe**: players, blocks, nearby entities, chat history
- ⚙️ **Control**: teleport, give items, spawn entities, game mode, time, weather
- 💬 **Chat**: read and send messages
- 🖥️ **Commands**: run any Minecraft command (optional, can be disabled)
## One-command setup
1. Install the mod (Fabric + Fabric API), launch the game once.
2. Open PowerShell and run (replace `claude-desktop` with your AI: `claude-code`, `codex`, `cursor`, `vscode`, `windsurf`, `gemini`):
`powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File "$env:APPDATA\.minecraft\config\mcpbridge\connect-ai.ps1" -Ai claude-desktop`
3. Restart your AI. From now on it connects automatically every time you start the game.
The script only adds one `minecraft` entry to your AI's config (with a backup). It finds the config file automatically, including Microsoft Store installs of Claude Desktop. Run it with `-Remove` to disconnect.
Then just ask: *"Build a 7x7 stone house next to me"*, *"What's around me?"*, *"Set the time to day."*
## Safe by default
- Listens on **127.0.0.1 only**: nothing is exposed to the internet or your network.
- Every request needs your **private token** (generated automatically, never shared).
- Dangerous commands (`stop`, `op`, `ban`…) are **blocked**; `run_command` can be switched off in the config.
- Back up your world before big builds: an AI can make mistakes.
## Requirements
Minecraft 26.2 · Fabric Loader 0.19+ · Fabric API · Java 25. The setup script is for Windows (PowerShell); on other systems, connect manually with the URL and token from `config/mcpbridge.json`.
