Description
ME Trading Terminal
Turn villager trades into unattended Applied Energistics 2 network operations and exact crafting patterns.
ME Trading Terminal is a server-authoritative NeoForge 1.21.1 mod with three released capability tiers:
- T1 — ME Trade Interface: houses one villager and runs continuous or stock-keeping trade automation.
- T2 — AE2 Trade Patterns: the distinct T2 Auto Trade Interface exposes its selected offer to AE2 autocrafting. It is the
metrading:auto_trade_interfaceblock. - T3 — Trading Array: houses up to six villagers in independent slots with per-slot offers, patterns, cooldowns, restocking, pending output, and diagnostics.
Features
- Native non-stackable Villager Carrier with complete villager persistence and safe release.
- Optional Easy Villagers
1.21.1-1.1.42captured-item import into the single interface or first free array slot; no Easy Villagers classes are bundled or hard-linked. - Exact vanilla
ItemCostmatching against component-bearing AE2 item keys. - Continuous and stock-keeping automation, plus exact terminal/slot/offer-bound AE2 crafting patterns.
- Configurable emerald multiplier, cooldown, restock interval, machine interval, denied outputs, denied offers, and conservative Mending denial.
- Failure-aware pending-output architecture: complete villager and output state is materialized before payment, published to persistent block-entity state before delivery, and retried until storage accepts it.
- Partial output delivery never retracts published items and never restores payment after output publication.
- Incomplete pre-publication payment rollback persists debt diagnostics and unsafe-latches the machine. A latched array stops all automation until an operator inspects and resets it.
- Safe block removal evacuates pending output and housed villagers; unsafe-latched machines refuse removal to retain diagnostics.
- Server-authoritative automation with an in-world setup GUI; no open screen or nearby player is required after setup.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- NeoForge 21.1.x, built and tested with 21.1.235
- Applied Energistics 2 19.2.17
- Java 21
Install the mod on both server and clients. Easy Villagers 1.21.1-1.1.42 is optional.
Basic use
- Capture an adult villager with the native Villager Carrier, or use a filled Easy Villagers item when that optional mod is installed.
- Place an ME Trade Interface or T3 Trading Array on an AE2 network.
- Use the filled item on the machine. Arrays fill the first free slot, up to six.
- Open the in-world configuration GUI to select mode, offer, stock target, and pattern exposure;
/metradingcommands remain available to operators. - Supply exact trade inputs to ME storage. Accepted outputs enter durable pending state before network delivery.
Full commands, diagnostics, configuration, and safety behavior are documented in the GitHub repository.
Compatibility and scope
Easy Villagers item import and Almost Unified 1.21.1-1.4.2 output canonicalization are optional and implemented. Canonicalization preserves trade-result count and complete data components. No Array Link is included, and there is no remote-link workflow or graphical configuration GUI.
