Merciful Void

This mod is inspired by the well-known Forgiving Void. However, unlike Forgiving Void, it allows protection for specific entities in specific dimensions through whitelists, and also allows to enables protection for dropped items. 

• Whitelisted living entities will be teleported to the max build height after falling into the void of whitelisted dimension.
• If Item Protection is enabled, drop items that are not blacklisted and fall into the void of whitelisted dimension will be teleported to the min build height and bounce up.

The mod currently prevents the next total fall damage for whitelisted living entities after they fall into void and are teleported to the max build height. 

Well, If you want to protect players, it's still recommended to use Forgiving Void.
