Description
This mod adds Wizard Armor as a factionless Tier 5 upgrade for the mage "armor" from Mana and Artifice. The new robes are more potent than the old ones, a lot more durable, and have superior self-repair, though the defense is still identical to leather.
As of v1.4, there is also now a set called Battlemage Armor, based on the battlemage armor from Ars Magica 2. Its mana bonuses are comparable to traditional mage armor, but it has way better defense and durability, as well as the ability to partially resist damage that would normally bypass armor entirely (such as magic damage).
I made this because the base mod's only upgrade to basic mage robes is the Spellweaver robes, which in addition to being Council-exclusive, also has a levitation feature that can often get in the way depending on the modpack due to overriding superior means of flight. If you're not playing Council and use mage robes, then you're forced to either keep using basic mage robes or switch to a completely different style of armor. I love the faction armors, of course, but sometimes I just wanna wear some simple robes without any extra bells and whistles, and I prefer to join the Demon faction.
You can configure the exact bonuses, and the tooltips will reflect your changes.
Known Issues:
-The item forms of the armor pieces do not change to reflect how they're dyed. Sorry, that requires an understanding of the arcane that goes beyong my current abilities.
