Mob Finder

Craft a tracking compass, right-click it, and choose a creature to track. Mob Finder searches for existing creatures and helps locate suitable habitats, structures and spawners.

Features

  • Search registered vanilla and modded living creatures by name or mod. Chinese names also support pinyin search.
  • Select supported variants, including baby zombies and axolotl colors.
  • Red model outlines nearby and a distant vertical marker help you follow a confirmed target.
  • Uses biome and structure spawn information to prioritize searches, and keeps a confirmed target area loaded while tracking.
  • Recognizes dimension restrictions and event-only creatures where this information is available. Stop tracking at any time to release its chunk tickets.

Place one compass in the center of a crafting table and surround it with eight wheat.

Installation

Install the Forge file matching your Minecraft version on both the client and server. No additional library is required.

Search behavior

A habitat marker is a search destination, not proof that a creature currently exists there. Creatures can be absent, killed, or require raids, breeding, spawning conditions or other mod mechanics. Existing nearby targets are prioritized; distant searches may take longer and load chunks. Mod compatibility uses registered entities and runtime spawn information; custom scripted spawning may need additional support.
