Description
Nether Awakened
When the Nether Update arrived, it turned a Nether that felt empty into something great, with new biomes, creatures and mechanics that took the game to a whole new scale. But as good as the new biomes look, there still isn't enough inside them to do, discover and enjoy.
Nether Awakened aims to take these vivid, exotic-looking biomes to the next level by bringing them life, interaction and a whole new atmosphere.
Nether Awakened doesn't turn the Nether into a different game — it awakens the life that was always meant to be there.
Food in the Nether
Have you ever run out of food while exploring the Nether and felt helpless? Nether Awakened makes the fungi that grow in the Warped and Crimson Forests edible.
Combine both fungi with a porkchop on a stick, cook it, and you get a delicious Fungus Kebab — more filling than steak, with a few surprises of its own.
Warped Forest
One of the Nether's most mystical-looking biomes, the Warped Forest is now more dangerous — and more fun — with poisonous fungi, corrupted endermen, and cute but timid fungus folk.
Warpedman

The warped fungus of the Warped Forest was too delicious for these endermen to stop eating — and it cost them their grip on reality. Now they see everything around them as a threat.
The fungus also gave them a new mutation: a special pheromone that makes ordinary endermen protect them. When a Warpedman spots a threat, every enderman nearby rushes in to destroy it.

Warp Shield

A creature this dangerous roaming the Warped Forest — isn't that unfair? Walking in there would be a death sentence.
You're right. That's why warped fungus now grants a brand-new effect: Warp Shield. It doesn't just make Warpedmen see you as a friend — it also carries a pheromone that calms endermen, so even if you accidentally look at one, it won't get angry.
Just don't start a fight — the shield won't protect you from one you started.
Warped Spore Pod

Warp Shield also protects you from Warped Spore Pods. These pods grow all over the Warped Forest, and when anyone gets close, they burst and release a cloud of poisonous gas.
Warpling

These small, adorable fungi live in groups in the Warped Forest, their homeland, and they are terrified of anything that invades it. When a stranger comes near, they hide behind the nearest tree, somewhere out of sight, and wait for it to leave.
The only way to earn their trust is to prove you're on their side. The first one to see you will drop something in fright, and the whole group will scatter in shock. Return what belongs to them, and you'll show your kindness — they'll even give you mystical items that lead to the new village they were forced to move to.
Warpling Lanterns

Want to help these little creatures but can't seem to find them? Look for the strange little trees that carry Warpling Lanterns. Connected to one another, these lanterns point the way with a gentle breeze, leading you toward where the Warplings are.
Follow them.
Warpling Village

The Warplings built their new home after discovering an ancient tree, and inside their village, you are completely safe. Its citizens, the Warplingers, leave donation baskets around the village — bring each one what it asks for, and they'll gladly reward your generosity.

The Warpling Trader sells brand-new potions and other goods, in exchange for gold. Out of stock? Don't worry — drop what's needed into the donation basket at the trader's home, and you'll help restock the shelves.
Vine Grip

Vine Grip is a rare potion that briefly unleashes the power of the ancient tree. It can't be brewed, and the Warpling Trader only has a few to sell. While it's active, every creature you strike is held in place by vines, left helpless and unable to move for a short time.
Throw it as a splash potion, and you'll see the power take hold where it lands: players caught in the splash are filled with the ancient power, while every other creature there falls to it.
Auric Netherite

Tired of giving up a piece of your netherite set just to keep the Nether's piglins from getting angry? Wish your netherite were even stronger?
Gold is plentiful in the Nether, and with the right touch, it can make your gear stronger than ever. Melt Gold Blocks in an Auric Cauldron, dip a piece of your netherite armor in, and witness the power of Auric Netherite.
This special new cauldron melts Gold Blocks in its own unique way, so you can put that gold to use on your gear. Recipe:

The set doesn't just keep piglins friendly — it also grants a special layer of extra protection: the Golden Heart.
This set may gain a special ability in a Crimson Forest update I'm planning for the future.

The Golden Heart is more than an extra heart: it's a special shield that regenerates on its own, letting you carry far more health than usual. There's just one trade-off — like your regular hearts, it uses up your food as it heals, and it recovers at only 25% of your normal healing speed.
What's next
The Warped Forest is only the beginning. The Crimson Forest is next, with its own creatures and its own conflicts, and the remaining Nether biomes will follow.
FAQ
-Will I port to Fabric/NeoForge?
-Eventually, also Fabric is my favourite modloader, but I need to learn how to code for Fabric/NeoForge first and I am not planning to start until my second update, the "Crimson Forest Update" is out.
-Will I port to early versions of Minecraft?
-I plan to port other versions, but I need to learn how to port.
-Where can I ask my questions?
-You can ask and inform me about this mod in the comment section below.
Did You Use AI (Artificial Intelligence) in This Mod?
-Yes, and I want to be clear how:
Code: I designed and wrote the Warpling's entire AI, as well as all of the Warpling and structure spawning mechanics, completely by myself, without AI — except for two later additions: how a group reacts when its leader dies, and Warplings swimming in lava. For other systems, I wrote some myself after learning the concepts with AI's help, and others were generated by AI under my direction. I tested everything, found the bugs, proposed the fixes and optimizations, and iterated until each system worked the way I intended. But by the time I get used to modding, I will use AI less.
Textures: Generated with AI and refined through many rounds of my direction until they matched what I had in mind. I plan to redraw them by hand over time. I perfected some textures that I do not plan to change.
