Still struggling to find a Nether Fortress? This mod provides a smooth and immersive guidance system that fits naturally into Minecraft’s progression. While exploring the Overworld, you can discover a chest inside a Ruined Portal. Opening it grants a special Nether Fortress Compass.

Based on the location of that Ruined Portal in your world, the mod automatically searches the corresponding Nether region for the nearest Nether Fortress, then places a lodestone near the fortress and binds the compass to it.

After repairing the portal and entering the Nether, simply hold the compass in your hand and follow its direction to reach the nearest fortress, saving you from wandering aimlessly across the Nether. Each Ruined Portal chest can only trigger once, and all progress is saved with the world, making the mod suitable for both survival exploration and speedrunning Nether progression.

Find Nether Fortresses the Survival-Friendly Way

How it works

1. Find a naturally generated Ruined Portal in the Overworld.
2. Open the chest inside the structure.
3. The mod searches the corresponding Nether region for the nearest Nether Fortress.
4. It places or reuses a lodestone near the fortress and gives you a bound compass.
5. Repair the portal, enter the Nether, and follow the needle.

The reward is delivered to the portal chest first. If the chest is full, it goes to the player's inventory or drops safely nearby.

Installation & compatibility

FAQ

Why does the compass spin in the Overworld?

Its lodestone target is in the Nether. Repair the Ruined Portal, enter the Nether, and the needle will point toward the fortress.

Does every chest give a compass?

Only a chest located inside a generated Ruined Portal can trigger the reward, and each chest can succeed only once.

What if no fortress is found?

The mod searches up to 100 chunks around the corresponding Nether position. If no fortress or safe lodestone position is available, no chest progress is consumed, so the chest can be tried again later.

Can I add this mod to a modpack?

Yes, when the pack references the official Modrinth project so players receive the original file from this page. Re-uploading or redistributing the jar as a separate standalone download requires permission.

Can I use it on a server?

Yes. It is especially suitable for survival servers because the important logic and world progress are handled server-side.

常见问题

为什么指南针在主世界乱转？

指南针绑定的磁石位于下界。修复废弃传送门并进入下界后，指针才会指向要塞。

每个箱子都会获得指南针吗？

只有位于自然生成废弃传送门结构内的箱子才能触发，而且每个箱子最多成功发放一次。

没有找到要塞怎么办？

模组会在对应下界坐标周围搜索最多 100 个区块。如果没有找到要塞或安全的磁石放置位置，本次不会消耗箱子的触发记录，之后仍可再次尝试。

可以加入整合包吗？

可以通过官方 Modrinth 项目引用本模组，让玩家从本页面获得原始文件。若要把 jar 作为单独文件重新上传或分发，请先获得作者许可。

支持服务器吗？

支持。该模组非常适合生存服务器，定位、奖励和触发记录均由服务端处理。
