About

Description

No AI Spawn Eggs adds a new creative tab full of spawn eggs that will spawn mobs with their AI disabled. This mod was originally designed to help take screenshots of mobs without them running away or attacking other nearby mobs but it can also be useful for building custom maps or similar creations.

FaQ

How does this mod work?

These spawn eggs will spawn the mob with the NoAI NBT tag. This is a vanilla feature that disables the mob's AI. This will prevent anything that is coded into the mob's AI from executing. For example the mob should not be able to path find or move around. Some mobs will still react to environmental changes, for example zombies will still burn in the sunlight.

Does this work with mobs added by other mods?

Yes, this mod should work fine with other mods. Some modded mobs will still execute a subset of their behavior despite having their AI disabled. This is a bug with that mod and is not something I can fix.

Why did you make this mod?

I was trying to take some screenshots and record a video of some mobs but they kept running around. I quickly made this mod so they would be easier to record. Since then a lot of friends and content creators on YouTube have started using this mod as well to make their videos easier to record.

Why not use vanilla commands to summon or modify entities?

While vanilla commands allow for a lot more control and flexibility they can be confusing and hard to remember especially if you don't use commands frequently. This mod provides a quick and intuitive way for players to access this feature.
