Description
This mod will prevent a player from mining out any "log" item in minecraft using anything other than an AXE.
That is all it does.
I created this simple mod becasue I needed to have this in a new mod pack I am developing, but no version existed for NeoForge Minecraft 1.21.1 as of this being published.
It DOES NOT add in anything else. No flint tools, no starter chest, etc... so you'll need to add in that on your own with a differnet mod, or simply add in my "Simple Flint Tools" mod which adds in a few starter tools to help the player in the first few days.
Devs: Please feel free to use this in your modpack.
Spoiler below on how the mechanic works:
The player will not be able to mine a tree becasue each time they attempt to hit a log bare-handed, they will be forced to look away from the log, thus ending their mining progress. They will also incure a 1 point (half a heart) of damage and recieve mining fatigue for a few seconds. This makes combat in forests harder! You need to be careful where you aim your sword. Persoanlly, I enjoy anything that adds realism and a challenge.
In the Fabric version, the mechanic is a bit different: yo cna mine logs, but as soon as the log breaks, it will reappear and will not drop a log unless you are using an axe.

The Fabric version is a bit different. When a log is mined out by hand, it just replaces the log instantly and no log drops. But when an exe is equipped it mines and drops like normal.
