Description
No Smithing Template is a lightweight functional mod designed to streamline the smithing process in Minecraft 1.20+. The primary goal is to simplify equipment upgrades, restoring the more intuitive and cost-effective "classic" crafting experience.
By refactoring the underlying logic of the Smithing Table, this mod completely removes the mandatory requirement for Smithing Templates in all "Transformation" recipes.
Key Features
-
Streamlined Netherite Upgrades: Upgrading Diamond gear to Netherite no longer consumes the rare "Netherite Upgrade Template." Simply combine your gear with a Netherite Ingot to proceed.
-
Broad Mod Compatibility: Utilizing dynamic matching technology, the mod supports not only vanilla recipes but also custom upgrade recipes from other mods (e.g., Enigmatic Legacy, Fantasy's Ending, etc.).
-
Smart Recognition: As long as a recipe is categorized as a "Smithing Transform" type, the mod automatically identifies it and allows crafting even when the template slot is empty.
-
Empty Template Slot: You can leave the first slot (the template slot) empty; the Smithing Table will still correctly display and output the upgraded item.
-
Vanilla-Friendly: If you prefer to use your existing templates, the mod still supports traditional smithing using templates as usual.
Limitations
-
Armor Trims:
Note: This mod does not affect the Armor Trim system. Applying cosmetic trims still requires the corresponding trim templates. There are currently no plans to change this logic in future updates.
