Description

YANDO's NPC Variety

Because What’s a Village Without a Little Diversity?

Overview

Let’s face it, Minecraft’s villages can be a bit… bland. Every villager looks the same, and after a while, you start to wonder if they’re all just clones. Well, no more! YANDO's NPC Variety breathes new life into your villages by introducing a range of diverse appearances for your favorite (or least favorite) NPCs.

Imagine a world where villagers don’t all have the same pale skin tone and green eyes. With NPC Variety, you’ll encounter villagers with eight different skin tones, ranging from snow white to deep ebony, and five eye colors that’ll make even the most jaded player stop and admire. Now, your village might finally look like it’s filled with individuals rather than an army of clones.

This mod is perfect for anyone who’s ever wished their villagers had a bit more character—or for those who just want a little variety before setting up another iron farm.

Features:

  • Eight Skin Tones: Villagers now come in a variety of skin tones, appropriate for the climate they spawn in, with some randomization to keep things interesting.
  • Five Eye Colors: Green, blue, light blue, brown, and amber—no more monotone gazes!
  • Sleep Animation: Villagers actually close their eyes when they sleep. It’s about time they get some proper rest.
  • Genetic Traits: Villagers pass their skin tones and eye colors on to their offspring. Breeding just got a lot more interesting!
  • Zombie Villager Variety: Even zombie villagers get a makeover with varied skin tones—though their eyes remain ominously red.
  • Seamless Conversion: When curing a zombie villager, they’ll keep their original skin tone and eye color. No more bland uniformity!

Compatibility:

  • Client and Server Requirements: This mod is required on both the client and the server side to work as intended.

Want to keep the fun going? Check out the rest of YANDO’s mods and datapacks, where you can:

  • YANDO's Villager Names – Give those diverse villagers some unique names, so you’ll feel even worse about locking them in a trade booth.
  • YANDO's BRUH Mod – Inject some whimsy into your world with handy utilities and delightful features like never growing baby mobs and fast glass breaking.
  • YANDO's Kingdom and Cogwheel Modpack – Experience the ultimate village management with a carefully curated modpack that lets you rule over your diverse villagers with an iron fist—or a gentle hand.
  • YANDO's Better Vine Farming – Harvest vines effortlessly, because nobody has time for shears.
  • YANDO's Dimensional Anchor – Teleportation with a twist, because why should villagers have all the fun?
  • YANDO's More Mob Drops – Because sometimes, you just need a little more variety in what mobs leave behind.

Love what we’re doing? Help keep the chaos going by supporting us on Ko-Fi! It’s cheaper than feeding an entire village—and way more fun.

Final Note: This mod requires the Fabric API and is designed for the Fabric mod loader. For all you Forge enthusiasts, don’t despair! We’re planning on porting our mods to NeoForge soon™. No promises, no ETA, but stay tuned!

Description:

  • As it is right now, this mod adds the following features:
  • Eight skin tones, ranging from white to black, with vanilla villagers colors being around the middle.
  • The majority of NPCs in a given biome will have realistic skin tone range appropriate for the climate, with some randomization to make it interesting.
  • Five eye colors. Green (vanilla), blue, light blue, brown, and amber. Ravagers also have these eye colors too.
  • Close their eyes while sleeping. Currently only villagers actually do sleep, but if the others ever sleep for some reason (like another mod) their eyes will close as well.
  • Villagers pass on these traits to their children.
  • Zombie villagers also have 8 skin tones (but their eyes are still all red), and converting back and forth they will retain all their features.
  • Zombie Villagers that are cured keeps the red eye.

Note 1: There are no plans for a Forge version of this mod.

Note 2: This mod is required both on the client and the server side to work as intended.

This mod is a port of the Original NPC Variety mod. The original Author have gave us authorization to port it for the 1.16 version of Minecraft.

This mod requires the Fabric API to work.
