A simplistic Origins overhaul pack
Data Packs were introduced to vanilla Minecraft in version 1.13 and allow the server to modify data about the game, or run commands. Data Packs are compatible with all mod loaders.
Forge is a popular mod loader for versions 1.1+ of Minecraft.
Fabric is a mod loader for versions 1.14+ of Minecraft, particularly popular for client side and optimization mods.

About 📖
This is a small and quite basic Origins add-on I made mostly for myself but now decided to publish anyway, since it appears there's nothing all that similar available. It replaces all base origins with new ones meant to add personality and character to different players and playthroughs without reshaping the way you play the game.
These origins have no major gameplay-altering limitations (like not being able to breathe on land) and have no overpowered abilities that render in-game progression pointless (like flying). Instead, they focus on passive abilities and changes that make the game ever so slightly different without being overbearing.
In a nutshell, these origins only minimally alter how you play and allow you to do anything you'd normally do, even with friends who picked different origins.

I'm not planning to update this mod much at all though, it was mostly intended to be a one-time thing. I'm plenty satisfied now that I can carelessly add Origins to all my mod packs :)
Technical details 📋
When used as a data pack, make sure it loads after the Origins mod. When used as a Forge mod, this will be taken care of automatically, no work needed on your part. Should work on Fabric, though it might not always load correctly. Make sure you have all the required dependencies. If it doesn't seem to want to work, use the data pack version.
⚠ Obviously requires the Origins mod. Fabric and Forge versions should both work.
⚠ Also requires the Pehkui mod.
Origins 📁
Below is a list of all origins this mod has. Descriptions should be taken literally :)
Human (---)
- #Blessed: A risktaker. Born naturally lucky!
Arthropodic (×--)
- Limber: An agile alpinist. Climb a few blocks of any surface. Ascend and descend quicker when climbing.
Note: Sneak to climb a non-climbable surface.
Avine (××-)
- Lightweight: Littler and lighter. Move more delicately while airborne. Take no fall damage.
Note: Sneak to fall and take fall damage as a human would.
Feral (××-)
- Petite: Tiny and remarkably hungry. Get around quite nimbly on land.
Fireborn (×--)
- Fiery: Ablaze and very resistant to fire. Swim more neatly in lava. But all at the cost of exhaustion.
Note: Full exhaustion depletes your immunity.
Golemlike (×××)
- Massive: Enormous and powerful. Take less and deal more damage. Get knocked less back.
Merean (×--)
- Gilled: An amphibious hybrid. Breathe using both lungs and gills. Swim and mine faster underwater. Leave behind bubbles when swimming!
Note: Swimming is necessary in order to breathe through gills.
Stalwart (××-)
- Efficient: Tall and dexterous. Reach much farther. Mine and heal faster.
