Description
Orpheus
Minecraft's music is great, but you get no say in it. Orpheus fixes that. Pick which songs play, how often they play, and how long the game waits between them. You can do this separately for survival, creative, the Nether, underwater and more.
It's client-side only, so it works on any server and nobody else needs to install it.
What you can do
- Set the music per situation. The main menu, survival, creative, underwater, the Nether, the End, the Ender Dragon fight and the credits each get their own song list and timing.
- Choose what plays and how often. Give any song a chance from 1 (rare) to 10 (all the time), or turn it off for that situation.
- Control the gaps. Set the shortest and longest pause between songs. Want constant music? Shrink it. Want long stretches of quiet? Stretch it.
- No repeats. Pick how many songs have to play before one can come back.
- Play jukebox discs as background music. Turn the discs on in any situation and they join the normal rotation.
- Skip, go back, pause or block a song with a keybind. A blocked song never plays again, in any situation.
- Now Playing pop-up. A small toast shows the song and artist whenever a new track starts. You can turn it off.
- Presets. Save your whole setup, make a few (a calm one for building, a busy one for caves) and switch between them in the menu.
Everything lives in a Music Options button on the Options screen, or on a keybind if you'd rather skip the menus.
About the songs
Orpheus doesn't ship any music. Some songs from newer Minecraft versions aren't in older ones, so one button downloads the missing ones straight from Mojang's own servers (the same ones the launcher uses). It puts them in a resource pack and turns that pack on for you.
There's also a section for unused tracks, songs from the Minecraft albums that never made it into the game. Mojang doesn't host those, so Orpheus sets up a folder and you drop in your own .ogg files, for example from an album you own.
