Description
Pick Me Up! — Nearby Loot
Your loot. Your choice.
Pick Me Up! brings nearby dropped items right beside your player inventory. Open your inventory, grab the stacks you want, and put them exactly where they belong.
Loot without the scramble
Mining session? Mob drops everywhere? Inventory almost full? The Nearby panel shows eligible items within 4 blocks, so you can choose what to take without walking over the whole pile.
- Feels like Minecraft. A compact panel with vanilla chest textures, familiar slots, and standard page buttons.
- Grab and drag. Pick a stack up onto your cursor, then place it in your chosen inventory slot.
- Take a little or a lot. Right-click for half a stack, or Shift-click to collect as much as fits.
- Room for big piles. Browse 27 stacks per page, with arrows for more drops.
- Keep your usual inventory. Crafting, armor, offhand, and the recipe book remain available.
- Keep your items' details. Names, enchantments, durability, and other item data are preserved.
- Choose at your own pace. Automatic pickup pauses for you while you browse, then resumes when you close the inventory. World drops still behave normally.
Familiar controls
| Control | Action |
|---|---|
| E or your inventory key | Open your inventory and the Nearby panel |
| Left-click nearby loot | Grab a stack onto your cursor |
| Right-click nearby loot | Grab half a stack, rounded up |
| Drag from the panel to an inventory slot | Place the grabbed items in that slot |
| Shift-click nearby loot | Quick-transfer as much as your inventory can hold |
| < / > | Browse pages of nearby drops |
Once an item is on your cursor, Minecraft's normal placement, splitting, and drag-distribution controls apply. Nearby cells show items on the ground; place held items into your own inventory.
Single-player and multiplayer
Pick Me Up! works in single-player and on Fabric servers. Install Pick Me Up! and Fabric API on the server and on every client that wants to use the panel. Using the same Pick Me Up! version on both sides is recommended.
The server validates each pickup, including distance, line of sight, pickup delays, and item ownership. If another player collects a stack first, your panel updates. Items do not get reserved just because you are looking at them.
Good to know
Which game modes are supported?
The panel integrates with the Survival and Adventure player inventory. The Creative item browser is not supported in this version.
Why is a drop missing?
It may be out of reach, behind a solid obstacle, still on pickup cooldown, or reserved for another player. Drops can also move, merge, burn, despawn, or be collected by someone else.
What happens when my inventory is full?
Shift-click leaves anything that does not fit on the ground. You can still grab a stack with an empty cursor. Closing the inventory uses Minecraft's normal handling: held items return to available inventory space, and overflow drops at your feet.
Where did the panel go when I opened the recipe book?
On narrow screens it hides while the recipe book is open. Close the book to see it again.
Can I use it in a modpack?
Yes. Pick Me Up! uses the MIT license. Mods that replace the player inventory or change pickup rules may need compatibility work. Manual collection does not trigger custom behavior attached only to vanilla collision pickup.
