Description
PickupPop
A lightweight, client-side pickup-notification mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 (Fabric). Every time you collect items, experience or a recovered arrow, a compact list pops up, merges repeat pickups into a single line, then slides and fades away.
Why this exists
Pick-up notifications are genuinely useful — but most implementations do more work than they need to on paths that run every frame. PickupPop keeps the behaviour people actually like and removes the fat:
- O(1) pickup merging instead of scanning the visible list for every pickup.
- Cached text + measured width, rebuilt only when a merged count changes — no per-frame text measuring.
- No extra fullscreen framebuffer for icon fades (the single most expensive per-frame operation in similar mods).
- No extra dependencies. Fabric Loader, Fabric API and Yarn only.
Features
- Item pickup notifications with icons, readable names and accurate quantities.
- Experience-orb notifications (orb count or total XP value).
- Recovered-arrow notifications.
- Merging modes:
ALWAYS,NEVER,EXCLUDE_NAMED(renamed stacks stay separate). - Configurable duration, screen corner, offsets, scale, text color, sprite/amount display and entry background.
- Fade and slide-out animations.
- Hard cap on visible entries and automatic cleanup on disconnect, respawn and world change.
- Full JSON configuration in
config/pickuppop.jsonthat survives restarts.
