Description
Pillager Caravans adds roaming, cargo-filled convoys guarded by pillagers, vindicators, and even ravagers. Instead of static treasure chests, caravans travel across biomes – sometimes near your base – with cargo that changes depending on the environment.

Rᴏᴀᴍɪɴɢ Cᴀʀᴀᴠᴀɴꜱ
Instead of staying put, caravans journey across the world, creating dynamic encounters – and sometimes the treasure doesn't wait quietly in a dungeon, but travels right past your doorstep.
Bɪᴏᴍᴇ-Tʜᴇᴍᴇᴅ Cᴀʀɢᴏ
Each region shapes what its caravans carry. Jungles may offer exotic goods and rare plants, deserts trade in sugar cane and hardy supplies, while snowy biomes bring food stocks and practical provisions – every biome adds its own flavor to the cargo they haul.
Sᴄᴀʟɪɴɢ Dɪꜰꜰɪᴄᴜʟᴛʏ
Caravan tiers shape their challenge: smaller groups travel with just a few animals and light escort, while higher tiers bring more guards, heavier cargo, and even ravagers. After a major caravan spawns, the world rests longer before another appears, while minor caravans return much sooner.
Pᴀᴄᴋ Aɴɪᴍᴀʟꜱ ᴡɪᴛʜ Pᴜʀᴘᴏꜱᴇ
Caravans rely on creatures that fit the regions they cross, and their cargo shifts along with the landscape. These animals are not just decoration; each one carries its own loot table, making every encounter feel distinct.
Fᴜʟʟʏ Dᴀᴛᴀ-Dʀɪᴠᴇɴ
You can customize every aspect: caravan compositions, cargo tables, spawn rules, cooldowns, or even add entirely new caravan types without touching the code. For more details, check out the documentation page

In-Game Config
On Minecraft 1.20.1, in-game configuration menus are available when using Forge Config Screens or Configured. Without these mods, all settings can still be adjusted through config files (config/obscuria/pillager_caravans-common.toml). Starting with Minecraft 1.21.1, in-game config screens are available out of the box, with no additional dependencies required.
Do Caravan Animals Despawn?
Pillager Caravans features a smart despawn system for leashed caravan animals. If a leash is about to break due to distance or terrain, the animal is teleported back to its pillager owner instead. When a pillager despawns naturally, all animals associated with that pillager despawn as well.
Debug Commands
/gamerule doCaravanSpawning <true|false>– Toggles natural caravan spawning in the world./caravan spawn <pos> <type>– Spawns a caravan of the specified type./caravan cooldown <get|set|reset>– Checks or modifies the active cooldown timer for natural caravan spawning.
