About

Description

This mod allows servers to modify the display names of their players, based on their entity tags. This is very similar to what can be achieved using vanilla teams suffixes and prefixes, but in the niche usecase where e.g. a player can't easily change their team, but needs a different name component than their team members, this mod, through its reliance on non-mutually-exclusive entity tags, can help out.

Through the configuration file, admins can determine display name and tab list name patterns that get applied to players with a certain tag. More information is contained in the comment of the mod's config file, which is located in the "config" folder of your server files. (If it isn't, NeoForge has changed its config file location again, in which case feel free to ask here where to find the config file).

This mod also contains a utility command, "/refreshplayername <players>", which is used to refresh the custom display/tab list name of supplied players. This is useful if some player tags were just changed and you want to verify that the correct player modifiers are being applied, since usually player display names are only updated when they join the server.

This is a NeoForge and Fabric mod, I will not port it to Forge. This mod is serverside only, which means that only the server and not the client (the players) need to install this mod.
