Description
Potencias
Potencias adds 16 special OP items — one for each Minecraft dye color — that each run a command you configure, no matter who is holding them. Perfect for server admins who want to hand out specific, controlled abilities to players without giving them full operator access.
It also ships an Item Editor module (/ie), inspired by the classic Spigot plugin of the same name, with chest-style menus for editing items directly in survival.
🆕 What's new in 1.1
- Toggleable Single Use — mark a Potencia as single-use in the config screen and it disappears completely after being activated once.
- Configurable Cooldown (in seconds) per Potencia, so items can't be spammed.
- Firework burst effect on use — a real vanilla firework, colored to match the Potencia's dye, launches around the player every time it's activated, along with a satisfying chime sound.
- Toggleable Server Broadcast — send a fully customizable message (supports
%player%and&color codes) to the whole server whenever the item is used. - The tooltip now shows single-use, cooldown, and broadcast status at a glance.
- Fixed config screen layout — labels and text fields no longer overlap.
🆕 What's new in 1.2
New: /modid lock | unlock | list (modpack utility)
/modid lock <modid>— blocks only the crafting-table recipes (shaped/shapeless/special) whose output belongs to that mod, so its items can no longer be crafted normally./modid unlock <modid>— restores them./modid list— shows which mods are currently locked.- The locked list persists across server restarts.
- Locked items aren't deleted from the game — they're just uncraftable, so you can still hand them out via a configured Potencia's command (e.g.
/give), making Potencias the intended way to obtain them. - Doesn't touch furnace, stonecutter, smithing, or any other recipe type — crafting table only.
New: Secure Lectern
- A new block, identical to the vanilla Lectern in every interaction (reading, page turning, comparator output) — except:
- Placing a book only works in Creative mode.
- Removing a book (which in vanilla means breaking the lectern) is also Creative-only — survival players can't break it while it holds a book.
- Anyone, in any game mode, can still read the book freely.
- Perfect for public "info boards" or rule books that everyone can read but nobody can walk off with.
- Known limitation: the open book model isn't rendered on top of the lectern yet (you'll see the empty wooden stand even with a book inside) — purely visual, everything else works. May be added in a future update.
✨ Features
Potencia Items
- 16 items, one per dye color, each with its own faceted-gem texture.
- Right-click → executes the command stored on the item, with permission level 4 (as if the holder were OP) — regardless of the actual holder's permissions.
- Shift + Right-click → opens a screen to set the item's name, command, and its extra options (single use, cooldown, broadcast) — but only if the user configuring it is actually OP. Regular players can hold and use a configured Potencia without ever needing permissions themselves.
- Supports a
%player%(or{player}) placeholder in the command, replaced with the name of whoever uses the item. - Item names, lore, and broadcast messages support
&-style color codes (&c,&l,&r, etc.), just like classic Bukkit plugins. - Shows an enchant-like glint once a command is configured, and a tooltip with the currently bound command.
- Comes with its own creative tab.
Item Editor (/ie)
/ieor/ie editopens a 9x3, chest-style GUI (OP only) for the item in your main hand.- Click-driven "buttons" instead of real inventory slots — nothing can be accidentally duplicated or dropped.
- Available actions:
- ✏️ Rename the item (supports
&color codes) - 📖 Add a lore line (supports
&color codes) - 🚫 Clear all lore
- 🛡️ Toggle Unbreakable
- ✨ Toggle enchant glint without adding a real enchantment
- 📚 Cycle enchantments — left-click to add/raise a level (1–5) from a rotating list, shift-click to clear them all — works on any item, not just the vanilla-legal ones
- 🔢 Set Custom Model Data
- 🙈 Toggle hidden tooltip info
- ✅ Done to close
- ✏️ Rename the item (supports
- A live preview slot always shows the real item you're editing.
💡 Notes
- All command execution and permission checks happen server-side — regular players can never configure a Potencia or bypass the OP requirement, even if they try to send crafted packets.
- Both the Potencia config screen and the Item Editor's text prompts use dedicated in-game screens (not chat), so nothing gets lost in chat history or logged publicly.
