Description

Currently WIP (Should be functional though)
! Currently Conflicts with Joy of Painting, Do Not Use Together !

Provenance

A mod that makes items and mobs keep records of information of themselves. Interacting with a mob with the added Study Lens will reveal their stats; placing an item in the added Study Table will reveal its stats (use scroll wheel if the text is too long).

The aim is to give a sense of history to these game elements, making them more sentimental to the player, and easier to keep track of. E.g, one's first wooden pickaxe.

Currently only generic stats are tracked, but I aim to add more. E.g, mobs/players hit by, fish caught, blocks broken, damage prevented, etc.

-Tracked Data-

-Items-

> Who 'made' it.
> How was it 'made'.
> When was it 'made'.
> What mobs/players has it killed, and how many times.
> What mobs/players have held* it.

*held: Have had the item enter/move within their inventory.
only unstackable items are tracked at the moment.

-Mobs-

> When was it 'born'.
> Where was it 'born'.
> What mobs/players has it killed, and how many times.
> What mobs/players have mounted it.

-Future-

I am also planning on expanding the mod to promote items and mobs to 'Timeless' status if they are considered special enough, by some combination of age and/or stats. For mobs, this would mean that upon death they drop a 'timeless' book containing the mob's stats. For items (including the dropped book), their destruction by any means would be prevented, and the item would be stored in some way. And, these items would have a way of being refound or reintroduced into the world later on. In both cases, upon becoming timeless the mob/item would be given a relevant name (if not already named).

Also, I'd like to add functionality to the Study Table allowing items that are usually stackable to be marked as 'special', tracked, and kept seperate from stacks.

Please comment any bugs, incompatibilities or suggestions :]

Feel free to use this mod in any way.
