Description
Radiant Gear (Unofficial Port) ⚠️ This is an UNOFFICIAL port of Radiant Gear by TheIllusiveC4 / Illusive Soulworks to Minecraft 26.3 / NeoForge. It is not made, endorsed or supported by the original author. Please don't report issues to the original author. Report problems with this port here: https://github.com/DEHUNTER58711/radiant-gear-unofficial-port/issues
What it does Items in Curios slots give off dynamic light through LambDynamicLights, just like when you hold them. A torch on your belt lights up the area like a torch in your hand. The light values come from LambDynamicLights' own item rules, including items that stop glowing under water. The mod adds no items, slots or models of its own.
Requirements Minecraft 26.3, NeoForge 26.3.0.51-beta or newer, Java 25. Curios API 17.x (17.0.0-beta.3+26.3 or newer): https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/curios. Needed on the client and the server. LambDynamicLights 4.13+ (4.13.0+26.3): https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/lambdynamiclights. Needed on the client only. Only LambDynamicLights is supported in this port. Other dynamic light mods (Dynamic Lights, Lucent, Ars Nouveau, RyoamicLights and others) are not. Client and server The light effect is calculated on the client only. Install Radiant Gear on the client. On a server you only need it for the built-in data pack (see below). Curios has to be on both sides as usual. If Curios or LambDynamicLights is missing or the wrong version, Radiant Gear logs one warning and switches itself off instead of crashing.
Setup: it doesn't glow? LambDynamicLights settings (Options → Video Settings → Dynamic Lights): Entities, Self light and, in the entity list, Player must be on ("Entities" and "Self light" are on by default). Curios light belongs to the entity category; a glowing torch in your hand doesn't prove "Entities" is on. The item must fit into a Curios slot. Curios gives players no slots by default, and items have to be in the slot's tag. The built-in data pack does this for you. Does the item glow when held? If not, LambDynamicLights has no light value for it. Built-in data pack "Light Curios" (off by default) Gives players the Curios belt and charm slots. belt: torch, soul torch, copper torch, lantern, soul lantern, copper lanterns. charm: glowstone, glowstone dust, glow berries, glow ink sac, shroomlight, sea lantern, prismarine crystals, blaze rod. Enable it when you create a world (Data Packs), or with /datapack enable "mod/radiantgear:datapacks/default_light_curios". Radiant Gear must be installed on the server for this. Important: after enabling the pack in an existing world, leave the world and join it again (Save & Quit to Title, then reopen it). On a server, restart it. Only then does Curios give players the new slots. Config (config/radiantgear-client.toml) lightMultiplier (0.0–2.0, default 1.0): scales only the light from Curios slots, rounded and capped at level 15. excludedSlots (default []): Curios slot ids that shouldn't give light, e.g. ["belt"]. debugLogging (default false): writes diagnostic lines starting with [Radiant Gear debug] to the log. What this port changes compared to the original Based on the original's release 4.0.0 (Minecraft 1.20.6).
Rebuilt for Minecraft 26.3 / NeoForge, for LambDynamicLights 4 (new entrypoint-based API) and Curios 17. Only the LambDynamicLights backend; the other light mods and the Fabric/Forge/Quilt builds were dropped. Crash protection: the versions are checked at startup and the integration switches itself off on errors. New client config: lightMultiplier, excludedSlots, debugLogging. New built-in, optional data pack with belt and charm slots for light items. Several light sources are never added together: LambDynamicLights always uses the brightest one. FAQ DynamicLantern as well, double light? No. LambDynamicLights takes the brightest source, and DynamicLantern 2.0.0 for 26.3 NeoForge reads Trinkets slots, not Curios slots. To let another mod handle a Curios slot completely, add it to excludedSlots. Shader light (Iris)? No, only LambDynamicLights.
