Description
☢️ Alexy's Radiation Lib — Zones, Radiations & Emissions
RadioLib is a STALKER/Stalcraft-inspired radiation system for Forge 1.20.1. It is not plug-and-play: it needs configuring, and is aimed at server admins who want a radiation system on a modded server.
The mod is the engine (radiation, zones, damage, sync); the content (loot, quests, balance) is left to you, via config and KubeJS.
You can find a detailed "wiki" in the ./config/radlib/wiki.txt that explains every command, feature and KubeJS api usage.
Features
Three radiation types
rad (ionizing), bio (contamination), and psy (psychic). Each has its own damage type, decay rate, and debuff effects. All of them bypass armor — only configured anti-rad gear reduces them.
Zones
Define radioactive areas with a selection wand, as boxes or per-block contact hazards (e.g. seagrass, magma). There are 6 tiers, from 0 (faint background) to 5 (kills an unprotected player in seconds). A toggle key (default ALT+Z) shows zones as colored wireframes.
Bunkers
Safe zones that block radiation intake and protect from emissions while you are inside them.
Emissions
A timed, server-wide event. During it the sky is replaced by a custom skybox, clouds are hidden, fog thickens, ambient sounds play, and a warning shows above the hotbar. Players who are not in a bunker take lethal damage after a short exposure. Timings are set per command and synced to clients.
Attributes / gear
Radiation resistance, dose tolerance, and recovery are attributes you assign to armor or Curios via config. There are also negative attributes for items that irradiate the wearer.
Geiger counter
A Curios item that plays a ticking sound whose intensity follows the radiation tier at your position.
Anti-rad consumables
Any food or drink can be configured to remove dose, grant temporary resistance, or speed up decay.
Debuffs
Per-type poisoning stages (low to acute) with configurable damage, chance, and potion effects. Configuration is in JSON (comments supported), and a wiki.txt reference is generated into the config folder.
For servers
- KubeJS API — a facade plus events (emission phase, death by radiation, zone enter/exit, stage change) for scripting loot, quests, auto-emissions, zone gating, etc.
- Multiplayer — zones sync to clients automatically; the server is authoritative for damage.
- Commands — zones, bunkers, emissions, and dose management are handled through
/radiation.
Quick start
- Install the mod (Forge 1.20.1) with Curios.
/radiation tool give, select two corners, then/radiation zone create rad 4 wasteland.- Press ALT+Z to view the zone.
/radiation emission start 30 60to test an emission.
